my freshman year of college I'd skip dinner with my roommate/floormates because I was in the middle of a tourney (though tbf they ate unconscionably early imo). senior year of high school instead of paying attention in my college classes I'd play and that's how I got into this game in the first place.

plus like, you know, I spent a shitload of time figuring out the ASR and TAZD* then running those every month for years

relationships with people on this site have probably had a much bigger impact than the game itself though tbh.

the first time i made a serious run after the breakup of the cabal was november 07. i went on a hot streak on the 30th, and almost caught petomni for 3rd place. we were sitting separate tables for the last couple games. id pass him, hed pass me back. felt epic to me. the timing worked out so that he sat the final game. he ended up passing me one last time. goddammit. he signed off. then for the hell of it i tried sitting at a new table at 12:05am. it worked. i was like OH SHIT EVERYONE SIT. we got the game started, i passed him back. he didnt find out until the next morning.

the bad thing was that at around 10pm or so, my wife announced she was going upstairs, and asked if i wanted to come. i was like, uhhh, its the last day of the month, and i really want to beat this one guy. she gave me a dumb face and was like... ok. then she yelled down at like 11:15pm or so, I'M GOING TO BED, LAST CALL, I'M WEARING SOMETHING NICE!!! with as much seduction as she could muster. i was like, ehhhhh, i'll wake you up when i'm done, but i gotta finish this.

she was not pleased. (good choice of word: pleased)

when i finally went upstairs at like 12:45 after all the post-month shit-talking, i tried to wake her up... not to have the sexy time, but to explain to her how epic the end of month was. no pleasure.

setting alarms for the members night to get the free points, either clicking join and going back to bed or playing it and just waking up.

basically, trying to work my 'social life' (or lack of) around kdice.

It is lame, but w/e.

I first got into kdice in the last two months of revision for my final exams at university. Brutal procrastination, head-in-the-ground displacement behavior - played 400 games (badly) over those two months. Got a decent grade in the end though, so it could have been worse.

Oh and I have a similar story about choosing kdice over hanging out with my ex... who lived quite far away and was only visiting for a weekend. played for about 2 hours while she just read a book. though she wasn't particularly pissed at the time, looking back it was a definite "beginning of the end" moment.

in this chase to take any podium (just ot kick rock out of it) :) i was here till 20:30 on 31.12.2014. so basicly since i should get ready for new year eve (shover, cloth and similar shit) and drive to party place i got there in like 23:00 all came around 20:00 and took diner, and almost drunk already and i was just came in... SO ALMOST MISS FUCKING NEW YEAR EVE CAUSE OF THIS CRAP!!! :) now must stop play next 3 months for seriously to relax a bit from this shit...
