Timer suggestion

Not sure about everyone else, but just to rehash i hate that people standing up and sitting down resets the clock to 40 seconds.
Why not just start the clock when 5 players sit and then run it down. If 3 of them stand up, the other guys can play heads up. If someone sits with 1 second to go, just keep it running. Why the flying fuck does it have to reset? |

at 7:42 AM, Saturday August 9, 2014 EDT Oh go away with your cheating paranoia. Its a suggestion to start games faster and reduce the ability to troll. Why the fuck should it be for no points? Because teams of 5 will sit, 3 will then stand and the remaining 2 players will be involved in point funelling?
Why don't we just not have points. Everyone can play for nothing, and that way the whole concept of cheating is obsolete. |

So your premise is ridiculous. That being said, if the test server could come back up and ryan set up a test database, I would be stoked. It would be fun to see what kind of player-induced games/tournaments come along organically. They would be tried and true new features that could be adopted into the "real" / production game. I told Ryan on numerous occasions I would help with that. It was funny how much traffic from the main site when to the test site when it was up (allowing 1v1 and up games to happen at any pt-level table). That was some of the best kdicing I've had in over a year. I hate to take the thread a different direction, I just see it as an amazing and pretty damn simple way (if Ryan doesn't have spaghetti code that has been forked 10 times) to rejuvenate the site. |

at 11:55 AM, Saturday August 9, 2014 EDT I fully support the idea that players shouldn't be allowed to unsit /sit to reset the timer constantly. There should remain enough room to be able to change your mind and unsit in normal conditions though.
I've bumped the idea a few times, I think it will happen eventually I guess. I don't think letting 4 or 3 players start when 5th leaves is a good idea in the current format. 4 and 2 player tables should be possible as a seperate format though. I also think you should allow players to unsit/resit twice every 5 minutes but after that, you shouldn't be allowed to unsit for another 15 minutes or something. |

I actually did abuse 1v1 before (and others did, too) and I'm sure it would happen again. I like the idea, please give 1v1. @BDK We don't care about the points, but we do care that there are points involved. (if that makes any sense to you) |
