If KDice were to change in one way in June. What should that be?

1) herv you can debate it all you want, the problem of member advantage has just been taken care of with the higher kill bonus

22500 member points are currently been divided among the members during 1 day

hard to estimate but I think at least 1/3 of those points flow back to the non members because some members lose these free points on regular tables or in joining other tournaments

in the second half of the month, there will be way more points being injected into the system thx to the higher kill bonusses (200 kills on 500s at 50 points more now = +10k, 40 kills on 2ks at 150 extra = +6k, 11 kills on 5ks at 450extra = roughly +5k + all the 100 tables at 100/kill)

I'm estimating that the cap for top 100 will be about 15k this month and (hopefully) the cap for a blue medal will be at 40k again

rationale for most high level players to leave is that member tourneys make it very hard for other players to compete for Gold. This is also the most common debate in the forum. Members have 2.5k to start plus 3 high paying tourneys a day. Non members cannot play most tourneys once they reached 10 to 20k.
So we need to decrease this unbalance. The easiest way to do it is to increase the number of 500 tourneys for non members to 3 a day at the same time as the free roll with same pay out as members. Members would still be privileged as they sit with much less players.

2) regardless of the more balanced kill bonus, I think we still need 1 more Europe freeroll and a 500 tourney that's easy to play for both North America and Europe

EDIT: + all the 100 tables at 100/kill (yeah we still might need that edit feature on the fourm after all)

3) I'm giving a big no advice to kill bonusses in tournaments. They were abused to keep people alive or to do game to game favoring or they were used as an excuse to kill a non friend with the excuse of the kill bonus (when they could just as easily kill a friend for the same reason but didn't.

4) if the higher kill bonus is installed we might quickly need the "only flag on your turn" feature too, so people can't flag out just before getting killed

I dont think that the higher kill points will take away members advantage as most players are still leaving the game before the end, especially on higher table where they lose dom rapidly.

A higher number of 500 tourney would definitely help to reduce the difference.

Ok fair enough about tourney kills... didn't know that.

My second point was about not being able to flag out if it's not your turn, but also about getting rid of the culture of 'I'll give you my kill later'. I don't like it. I think dom loss somewhat avoids it on higher tables since people will flagout rather than lose dom staying in for the kill... but I guess we'll have to see how this month plays out.

Also I don't think there's anything wrong with having more tournies.

Increasing the population of people who have more points is a great thing.

kill per game stat could be fine

i would like to see point caps on the 0 and 100 tables

specifically at the 10,000 point threshold where you cant enter freerolls anymore

i dont want to force people to play 5k tables, but even 500 tables struggle to start late at night and players with high point totals just join them because they get tired of seeing everyone else do it

I'd like to do some things that increase the population on the site. I'm thinking that making a more modern UI may help... removing the ads, full width, etc. Thoughts?

Honest question: how much revenue do the ads bring in for you?

I really liked Vermont's earlier suggestion. There seem to be a few decently-talented coders who would enjoy contributing to the site on a consistent basis. I bet most would work for free, out of love for the game/community, and would be willing to develop code in a sandbox area, waiting for your stamp of approval before actual implementation.

imo, this could lead to an increase in players, because then the site would be more consistently maintained/improved. I think you've lost a chunk of players because of frustration that this is a 2006 game, that hasn't seen consistent owner-player interaction since maybe 2008. It's great to see you pop on for a few days every year or so, but we've been through it several times now where we get our hopes up that 2007-Ryan is back, but then realize a week later that he has vanished again with minimal interaction.

If you had a trusted team of developers, it could lead to a situation where you can maintain the low amount of interaction (so you don't have to sacrifice your family time or day-job time), while improving the critical user/developer relationships via that team.
