Medals, Members, and PGA

Ever since last month when I decided to get a membership on this account I've been told that the medals don't mean anything unless you play regular tables. I would like to examine that for a minute.
1: Medals are worthless no matter what. This is a game....A game may people take too seriously. No one, and I mean no one, gives two shits in the real world if you get a medal or win a month. If you find someone who does give them my number. I got a lot of things to sell them. 2: People say members are free points and to an extent that is very true. It's way easier to put points onto your account when you have 3x chances a day to make top 6 payouts. You pretty much have to suck very very badly to not make pay 80%+ of the time. HOWEVER members don't have PGA, the member base is too small and it's too noticeable. 3: Dom tables are full of PGA and proxies. One must be very careful when they choose to sit at dom tables. Dom players have always screamed about this and that but with Jurgen basically saying PGA is ok there is much more blatant shit going on these days. So taking these three points into account. What makes cheating at high tables better than paying for access to more point opportunities? In my opinion nothing. Ok trolls now it's your turn. |

Cheating saves real world money. Being a member costs real world money you have to invest to earn medals "not worth 2 shits". Cheating doesn't cost a thing. |

2. I do not believe that. I depends on your definition of PGA. OTF and PGA are synonyms in my view. OTF is just a term to make it legal while being less obvious. Member tourneys are full of this. 3. I do not believe the proxy thing. |

So while one can selfishly look at it as "getting more out than one put in." I don't feel that selfishness is a valid reason. :) |

I believe you when you cancel your membership and tank each month. **HOWEVER members don't have PGA, the member base is too small and it's too noticeable. Maybe not right now, but you're naive if you think that members are PGA free. ** 3: Dom tables are full of PGA and proxies. I assume you're not stupid or too ignorant. Let me guess. You've been screwed over at the big tables, and you see what everyone else see. Players are very friendly/ OTF with eachother there. You've heard stories and follow the hype of the past and get a twisted perspective. The fact is, It's not that different from the members. The path of players getting to know you is a lot shorter than the big tables. Players truce and play cool with other players they know or trust rather than the guy they don't know. Everyone goes trough the same beating from the bottom, and slowly get's accepted by reputation of the mass from what they experience from you. That's just human nature. **Jurgen basically saying PGA is ok there is much more blatant shit going on these days. Then prove it! There's nothing more funny than a classic PGA thread exposing someone caught naked. Whining about it in the forums is old and fucking annoying, please stop. I'm not saying PGA/ GTG favors doesn't exist at the tables anymore, they do. Game to game favors are flowing each month and they are hard to catch, especially for the mods to ban on. But holding your members tourneys in the bright shining light of yours just makes me cringe. How the fuck did this post get so long... |

at 7:14 AM, Monday April 7, 2014 EDT I fail to see how "keeping this site running", which is definetly true, the membership fees do help keeping this site running, is countering the arguement, that cheated medals come for free while membership costs money.
The assumption that cheaters care for the existance of this site is daring (to be polite). If they did care for the site, they'd care to attract more players and traffic to enable development and maybe they would even pay for it. On the contrary they actively offend and displace new players by ripping them off. They clearly are interested in short term fun for themselves alone - or too dumb to think long enough... With this site being subject to cheating ever since and still existing, maybe it is the victims that are just too stupid though ;-) Or the cheaters are smart enough to have alts losing to the victims on the low tables to keep them playing... |
