at 8:41 AM, Saturday November 16, 2013 EST yea ive been to North Carolina and South Carolina out of the two I have to say the North is much nicer. Myrtle beach was starting to get scummy when i was a kid almost 20 years ago. From the news ive read recently its gotten ALOT worse. If you have the money to stay at a nice resort try to go to Atlantis in the bahammas(sp) my friends went there and said it was great. Also if you would rather a more private setting there are 5 islands near the island Atlantis is on that you can go to for snorkeling and the beach. Watch out on any beach down south though as the dreaded box jelleyfish and its smaller cousin(think the size of your fist fully grown but slender like your wrist both have arrived in the area from sticking there polyps to the underside of ships. They can kill in 3 minutes and usually sleep at night in shallow water by laying on the bottom. They have been spreading though so who knows where they are now in any case on the east coast specialy the warmer ports and other shallower areas they thrive. I would no longer recomend swimming without at least a wetsuit and a good pair of swimshoes and faceshield as the tenticles will find any exposed skin. On the other hand the mountains of North Carolina(more like large hills) are always a nice place to take a hike and the air there in most times of the year is awesome.
