Alright, here comes a rant that lot of you have heard, but now is the time that I put it on paper.

Why is it that all the pga still happen? Why is it that we can see people cheating all the time but no bans are ever done? In my opinion, kdice moderation is currently inneffective.

But don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that the current mods ( sam, jurgen and rowdy, because i dont really see others around ) Are doing a bad job. They do have a lot of job on their hands, and as Sam said : "It's hard to punish one player with the way everybody is playing."

This is both a call out to mods who i think should be stricter, and to Ryan who I think should apply more mods.

Thanks for reading and hopefully replying.

actual attempt at a short bullet point response:

1) there 's less pga now
2) still a lot of otf and that actually still needs to change but I don't know if bans are required to change that. communicating and game changes should be better for that imo.

(sidenote: The current game changes are meant to change behaviour and reward players to kill ppl, to go for first and to be agressive. Ryan and the mod team also want less early weakflags, less lame truces, less passive play, less otf, less TAZD etc)

3) players at the top table need to police themselves as much as possible and call out potential or actual pga players (be a a man and call out what you think is pga then jijo?)
4) we need game replays so the mods can do a much better job. You ask to be stricter but I won't do that unless I'm sure of what I ban.
5)until we get better mod tools, there's no need for more mods. They would just get demotivated because they can't do a good job anyway.
6) the number of mod candidates with the potential to be a good mod is VERY limited
7) we really need game replays, if not only to save our best 1hit games, best comeback games or to save the craziest good and bad luck streaks

The TAZD is no more. It doesn't work when the number of starters in a game is variable. It might be possible to work up a new stat: the Variable Estimation Recalculation Method (VERM). It would be based on two estimations: 1) the propensity to select a game based on the number of players, and 2) the likelihood that the TAZD will be mentioned in a post by Verm or Jurgen.

First thank you for replying.

1) agreed. But the problem still exists.
2)It does need to change. Has communication helped in the last 5 years?
3)What I or anyone calls pga has no impact whatsoever. People tend to always follow the bigger name, or simply their OTF as mentionned earlier. And most people won't counter a pga without proof, and when they get fucked its too late to come back.
4)I'll agree game replays would be nice, but there are still some bans that can be done without them. There are stuff that are just being repeated over and over again.
5) More mods is more of an idea for a bigger time coverage. You guys have lives, dont you?
6)Candidates for good mods aren't as limited as you think, we just don't always see them. I for myself would say fin and monte would be decent mods.
7)Agreed.

1) agreed
2) communication has helped but it won't be fully effective unless Ryan steps in and participates. He's doing a great job atm in making changes and listening to ideas
3) people like beevoh have called out nokia and alec baldwin's possible pga last month. sure there were no bans although nokia is still at the top of my "one more strike and you're out" list but it DID have effect. people questioned their every move and if it indeed was pga at one point, they were forced to tone it down; So yes, start calling out names and point out the fishy move during games. Most people and probably you too are just afraid to get a pge for speaking their mind. If everybody continues to think like that and just tries to fit in, otf will continue and 50 mods can't change that unless we ban everyone and then the site would be dead. And when I talk about calling out, I don't mean whining. Make your case and back it up with facts during a game (X had +2 attacks on Y and never did, no flags, same as last 2 games etc).

4)if you can say that there is stuff that is being repeated over and over again, you've seen things and then you should put names on it. Otherwise it's not worth a discussion.

5) yup, we all have lives but even adding 20 mods won't cover all tables of kdice 24/7. But again, unless there are better tools to investigate possible cheating, there's no need to add moderators.
6) agreed: limited doesn't mean none. I've proposed Monte before and maybe it deserves another bump since Monte would be one of the very few people that I would have complete confidence in atm. But as for me, Monte has a family life and I think he can only be a great mod addition if we had game replays (so he could replay key games in his free time). If we had game replays, mods could also exchange ideas with each other and a ban could be backed up by more than 1 mod. Oh and yellowfin definitely knows the game very well and he's anything but a pointwhore so he could be good too
