Maybe it's time for another challenge with a contributor badge as reward: the "Tournaments only" challenge.
Rules: * players have to declare before Feb 25th that they enter the competition * only tournaments can be used to gain points on the account * an account has to start on zero points and then enter the competition, you can tank points first if you want. * you can't use member tournaments * actually no member accounts, if you want a badge on your main account, as winner, you will be able to pick the account you want the badge on anyway * you can't use 250 point boosters (not from ryan, not from referrals) to enter 500 or 250 tournaments right away. Your first points will have to come from a freeroll. * I will have to be able to verify on your profile that you played by the rules. I WILL add up all winnings/buyins from an account to check so if there is a difference, you will be disqualified. * stabbing is OK but if I see unacceptable help from other players to favour someone, I reserve the right to disqualify a person from the competition. * the player with the highest point gain at the end of February (with a minimum of 8k) will receive the contributor badge * if in doubt, ask first, no "oh I thought this was OK too" please in short (the complete rules above always apply though): 1) only play tournaments to gain points 2) don't use anything unfair or illegal like boosts, member tournaments or team play 3) player with most gains this month wins a badge good luck |

at 3:26 PM, Friday September 20, 2013 EDT I was obviously kidding, das. As I said I was not going to beat that record (which is a achievment of its own), but am going for the challenge described in this topic.
But I did not beat joe yet anyway. We'll see if I will. (I'm on vacation next week.) I only posted to tell jurg that I was joining. |

at 4:03 PM, Friday September 20, 2013 EDT Joero, why do you think you're not getting the badge(yet)? because you said you would retire! :P
I think getting payouts in 10 tournaments in a row is indeed an accomplishment that's worthy of a contributor badge. |

at 4:07 PM, Friday September 20, 2013 EDT Alright joero, I have to wait 2 more days before I can you give the badge but consider it awarded.
Congratulations, well deserved. Just don't retire or I will ask Ryan to remove it again :). |

at 2:54 AM, Saturday September 21, 2013 EDT Technically I could have denied her entrance since she played more than 10 before she let me know so it was harder to check if she didn't use boosts or other stuff to enter a non-freeroll as first tourney.
But I checked the history and I saw no problems. My guess would be 17-18 tournaments by now. |
