Maybe it's time for another challenge with a contributor badge as reward: the "Tournaments only" challenge.
Rules: * players have to declare before Feb 25th that they enter the competition * only tournaments can be used to gain points on the account * an account has to start on zero points and then enter the competition, you can tank points first if you want. * you can't use member tournaments * actually no member accounts, if you want a badge on your main account, as winner, you will be able to pick the account you want the badge on anyway * you can't use 250 point boosters (not from ryan, not from referrals) to enter 500 or 250 tournaments right away. Your first points will have to come from a freeroll. * I will have to be able to verify on your profile that you played by the rules. I WILL add up all winnings/buyins from an account to check so if there is a difference, you will be disqualified. * stabbing is OK but if I see unacceptable help from other players to favour someone, I reserve the right to disqualify a person from the competition. * the player with the highest point gain at the end of February (with a minimum of 8k) will receive the contributor badge * if in doubt, ask first, no "oh I thought this was OK too" please in short (the complete rules above always apply though): 1) only play tournaments to gain points 2) don't use anything unfair or illegal like boosts, member tournaments or team play 3) player with most gains this month wins a badge good luck |

at 6:54 PM, Sunday February 24, 2013 EST sure, same thing as tanking as long as you commit to not using the 120 for buyins (you need 620 to sit a 500 tourney for example)

at 4:14 AM, Monday February 25, 2013 EST more like a lazy question :)
I just don't want to get people come to me saying "hey, well I know I had 3544 points before I started playing tournaments only and you can check that I never joined something I couldn't play if I substracted the 3544". The reason I don't think this qualifies for the challenge is because these people could have gotten a lucky streak mid month without playing regular games inbetween and realise "hey, I could have done well in the tourney challenge if I hadn't played games first". You have to intentionally start the challenge, not switch to it once you noticed you had a good streak for it. So ha, your last post made me realise why I added that rule. Rule stays. You enter with 0 points or a tanked account only. |

at 9:14 AM, Monday February 25, 2013 EST Yeah, I agree that it is good to clear up any confusion if someone posts a question on the 24th of the month.
Also, these rules will still apply for the follow-up challenge where you can try for this in every remaining month of 2013. |
