I challenge you to create a new account, do NOT TELL YOUR NUMEROUS OTF and get top 25 the first month you play that account with less than 100 games and without membership. It only counts if your cover has not been blown by the end of the month.

I am quite sure it can't be done.

So winning medals in few games or numerous medals at all or large amounts of points in tourneys or 2k/5k games just means that you have build some sort of supporting network here that gets you there. Congrats on this social skill.

meh, one of the months, i basicly did that, I started without member, and won my first 8 games (1x0, 2x100,5x500), so I had 2.5K, to play at the 2.5K table. I was lucky and won my first 2 2.5k, so I was at 7.5K (about). Then I had a fairly regular distribution in my remaining 20 games that month, something like (4/3/3/4/1/1/3).
in those games I "only" gained about 5k pts, to put me at about 13K, which was enough for the 71st that month. BUT the "best" part of my stats came against randoms at 0,100,500 and 2.5k. I did better against players I didn't know than the players I did.

so, it is entirely possible Louis cypher.

You mentioned players you know - did they know you too? Playing 2k/5k is extremely tough if nobody knows you, as we probably all know. You need brilliant skill AND a lot of luck to win as the new kid. I still think it is very hard to do it. Probably not impossible given time, skill and luck, but hard.
