Or President is a loser...

At his latest appearance he said the following:

"We had reversed the recession, avoided a depression, gotten the economy moving again," Obama told a crowd in Decorah, Iowa. "But over the last six months we've had a run of bad luck." Obama listed three events overseas -- the Arab Spring uprisings, the tsunami in Japan, and the European debt crises -- which set the economy back.

So basically his latest story is now; "I fixed the recessions but then Egypt; Japan; and Europe screwed it up."

This man is a complete and utter failure... Instead of manning up and correcting his failed policies; he has decided to go down in flames while pointing the finger at everyone else.

I played baseball, football, and basketball while in school; but wasn't good enough to do it professionally (not even close). I enjoyed playing each of the sports; however I am completely bored by watching them (most of the time; the exception being if you actually go to the game).

So I don't hate the Yankees; but I don't watch baseball; so I guess I really don't have an opinion either way.

Btw; anyone interested in hearing Ron Paul's latest speaking engagement; here it is in full. He addresses the typical Veta argument of being outside the mainstream in the intro to his speech.

Boogy; I might be presumptuous to think that you would sit through a 45 minute speech of Ron Paul; but it addresses a lot of your points as well.

doesn't it always end with dead not being able to defend his viewpoints and then just referring people to watch ron paul videos...? thanks veta, if that was you. highly entertaining.

I don't think anyone thinks Ron Paul is "too out of the mainstream" as much they realize half the shit he thinks is fucking crazy (of course he's a politician and knows when to keep the crazy down, e.g. primary debates).

the government doesn't have a problem with power... it has a problem with accountability and transparency. what veta said is correct, right now government officials have no choice but to play lackey to corporate interests (lest they fear not being reelected). what i think was failed to be articulated and is typical of a progressive platform is more transparency and accountability within government agencies and among government officials. including proxy officials like staff members of an elected official (they get bribed legitimately). especially since its the staff members that present information to politicians. anyhow that's my 2 cents.

Veta; don't you get tired of attacking me with alts? Why when ever you are in a thread do random people with no playing history suddenly get interested in the forum and decide to defend you?

If it is typical of the progressives to want more transparency; why are they allowing Obama to conduct the most secretive administration since I can remember?

Certainly I would stand beside the progressives in a call for more transparency; but there needs to be action and not just words. Where is the action?

not veta, check your alt thing guy. also just because Ron Paul is GOP I don't go around saying you supported everything Bush did, (I hope you didn't support anything he did). Just because some progressives are registered as democrats doesn't mean all democrats are progressives. I'm sure Obama would be a lot more progressive if he was a dictator or at least had some more power, but frankly he doesn't have the power to affect much. Aside from setting the agenda through the media (and these days that's debatable) there's not much a president can do to enact his or her values.

This is what progressivism is by the way: http://www.putnampit.com/opinion/Peter_op-ed_2005_10_14.htm
