Enjoy your vacation, jurgen, you have certainly earned it (and so have you, Thrax). Modding this lunatic asylum is a thankless, tiring and (mostly) pointless occupation. Mods are subjected to abuse regardless of whether they do or don't do their job and after a while it becomes too much of a grind to continue on a full-time basis.

You deserve a + more than just about anyone here and I would bestow it if I could.

hey BR, good to see you back, even here in the forum (and I hope all is well).

Actually, since I became mod, I have tried to get some things moving and do my share of the work. I hoped that would help motivate some of the great but disillusioned or demotivated mods like you, shevar, vermont and thraxle to start modding again if you saw someone new did a great part of the work.

My plan didn't work but I can't blame you all, I know how it feels to fight windmills now.

I've actually gotten back on the site a bit this month (first games in roughly three months) but it's pretty discouraging. Player count seems to be way down and the forum is primarily full of complaining (whether right/wrong.)

There used to be a lot more questions from new players, for example, but I'm thinking that we just don't have as many new folks coming in anymore, which is sad. I wonder if we're heading in the direction of sketch.

I have no idea if this would cost money but Ryan should look for partnerships with bigger game sites that could link through to Kdice.com. I am also sure there are places to advertise Kdice for free.

I sometimes ask noobs how they found Kdice and most just googled dicewars or risk.

Vermont.. Sketch still gets its regulars after Ryan put a 10k table up for us. Its is becoming better with more people trying to actually get the 10k to play on a higher table. But yes indeed we still come across that troll everyone hates. But the main thing is to just stay positive!! I'm sure since Ryan was on last night be is thinking of new ideas for not only gpokr and sketch but kdice as well. But time will only tell, and in that time all of us just need to stay positive and keep doing what we do!

I don't think of sketch as a troll at all, just a fairly good game that doesn't get many players. I drop in to play a bit myself every once in awhile.
