maybe you should just moderate on xsketch, since you only have to worry about spammers and inappropriate avatars over there. i thought there was a reason for selecting competent and fair kdice players when choosing advisors, but i guess not.

it's funny how long it's taken me to realize this, but Yodel's rants are kinda right. the mods do allow PGA to continue, and in a way they advance it themselves with their philosophy that OTF is somehow different. having a rapport with someone is not the same as trucing the same 5 people every chance you get.

i've been saying it since day one otf=pga. but if you banned that then mods would have to ban themselves (cough sam).

frankly the only way kdice points will actually represent skill is if you make everyone anonymous and replace tables with auto matchmaking and an ELO system. First place gets all the points. add team kdice too, that'd be sweet.

i know. i hope he doesn't actually quit. but it's fucking annoying when you fall asleep super early by accident, wake up around 4:30 a.m. and watch 5 games in a row of savif/mustang blatantly "otfing." they are smart and stick to playing in the wee morning hours (non-American hours), so only Jurgz is there to watch. but honestly i was just irate at the time, and i really didn't mean my words. kdice would be worse off without you J. and now that Rob has taken out the hammer, kdice could take a 180 degree turn for the better.

Well greek: neither boogy, veta, yodel or anyone else should be worried they were the one to make me quit. If there is anyone that can take some credit for that, it was you who speeded up my thought process by a few days.

I need a fucking break or I at least need to show Ryan that he can't count on me for trying to put out all these forrest fires with at fucking toy water squirt gun. I've watched 6 of the last 7 grand finales in the middle of the night. Heck Harry, I saw you get mad at gurgi for dumping you in your 2/3 truce with him in the 2k tourney at 3 am at night. All I am saying is I am done doing that if I don't get extra mods, extra tools and some feeback once in a while.

Again, Sam and Rowdy play and watch as many games as they can so I am not criticising them at all. But do you really think the American hours are much better monitored than the non-american hours? The day is filled with gaps where no mod is watching. And THAT is my fucking problem. Screw reports in the forum, with stuff that can be taken out of context or faked or will be a source of endless discussions.

PGA Modding needs to be done live, witnessed by a mod and BAM, banned. I've banned my friends, people I respected as player and people going for big medals. I don't need bigger balls or more spine, I need to see that we as mod team can make an impact that matters. If we keep banning 10% of the cheating because of lack of manpower, lack of good evidence and lack of research tools, that's a drop on a hot plate. If we can really make a dent and get around 50%, people will start thinking twice about doing it. Now cheaters can just laugh in our face and I actually can't blame them. Same for trollers, spammers, racists, etc.

So how do you cover 15 active tables on average with 3 mods with other things to do during a day than just mod. Let's just say only the top table needs to be watched. With 3 people, that's 8 hours a day each.

So I know we will never get 20 active mods to share this load reasonably. Also, 20 active mods will always have at least 3 people in a powetrip mood, 3 with grudges against another mod (undoing each others actions) and a few on a break. But fucking 6 to 8 active mods for such a big community isn't that much to ask if you want 24/7 coverage or at least reasonable response times and good chance of cheaters being watched.

Xsketch has an average playing population of 10 players and they now have 3 mods! (PM, KKM and Amber). Last 2 months I spent some time over there (yeah there is less whining there) so you can count that as 3,5 mods. Anyway, even there they complain during the times that there is no mod present.

gpokr got a new mod too.

So I have suggested a few mod candidates to Ryan, explaining the problems we have as mods too. Never a response or a question to any mod like "hey guys, everything OK there on Kdice?, do any of you have a few good candidates in mind to help you?". Nothing. Ever. Even if we won't get many new mods, there are other ways to improve our efficiëncy. Sure it will take coding but we needed a game replay feature long time ago. Let people save dubious games on the server and we can cover Kdice 24/7 with 5 motivated mods who watch these games when reported.

I know that putting all this in the forum probably won't help get new mods but why care about that when I am fed up as hell. I am done donating time to a lost cause.

I'll join Rob in actually enjoying playing KDice when I feel like it. The modding, oh well, if I see too much crap, I'll probably be tempted in doing something about it at one point.
