What is Kdice like up top?

This game has devolved over time. Cheating has become more advanced. The top spot each month is usually pre-arranged between friends that use IM constantly during game play. Some of the more blatant PGAers do not give a shit about being caught and just lie and use disinformation to detract from their accusers findings.
These patheticoids do not have to use IM all the time, in game. But rely on in to get their game plan together. While others rely on a combination of PGA and proxy with the team sitting at 3 plus spots on the board. The only thing that has become worse over time, is that there are 3 plus groups or -cabals- who sometimes compete each month. Like this month, for example is a competition of piss ants. The sophistication of the cheating is at a point where only the trained eye can see what is going on. (insert comments about tinfoil hat wearing here). There have been so many admissions of cheating in the forums in the past. For example, the -how to cheat- post from Shad et al. and actual IM conversations posted within the forums that prove everything. Only a pure idiot would believe that the top is not ruled by these underhanded methods. This game is being dominated primarily by nothing more than a bunch of geeks who got there asses kicked in there youth and must hide behind a keyboard to virtually bully others. This way, they can elevate their low self-esteem. Pathetic, truly pathetic. How to stop it? It is not possible. Why? Take the Zoid example or the Chase example. Both are admitted and blatant cheaters. Both are still playing and cheating. Nothing gets done. At a higher level, look at it like this. This is a free gaming site. Everyone who is reading this stupid post is contributing to Ryans number of hits per month. This makes his site more attractive to advertisers. More hits = more $. Simple. In the end, drama, controversy, good vs. evil and conflict all are useful conduits to make money. So to everyone who has spent endless hours cheating their way to a top spot, look in a mirror to see the person who was actually pwnd by a player name Ryan. |

at 3:15 PM, Monday January 31, 2011 EST @DDDY ,read montecarlos response, also I would like to add that constantly using IM will usually do more to break your concentration than to help you coordinate, thereby making you play less well. the perfect PGAstyle is not theone where you always go for 1/2, it is the one where you truce other players too, but always seem to end up doing moves that helps your PGApartner. and balant obvious steady 2-3 person PGA will be cought by other top players and they will start to PGE it to some extent.
reminder, you do not need to read your PGA partner perfectly, as long as you view you and him as one team. situations will change, but if you are both good players just the fact that you can always rely on getting the same trucepartner is a HUGE improvement. you do not need exact knowlage about anything. all you need to know is that your partner will have your back, and he knows how to do that. thus you can play and assume he will play for the best of the team. |

"dddy, i think what mrk is trying to say is that, assuming that 2 people have basic knowledge of kdice strats/chatbox usage, then 95+% of the time, a situation NEVER arises during a game where they need to communicate with each other about where to move. the moves are obvious. " this is the part I am refering too |

at 4:16 PM, Monday January 31, 2011 EST It's funny how everyone ignores my comment about mutual exclusivity.
Pointing anything out in these forums usually causes 2 things to happen. 1) the worst offenders usually are among the first 3 to reply in an attempt to deflect the accusations. (i.e Gurgi) 2) then a semi-intelligent conversation is had that ends up digressing into a quasi-Fox News/ Hannity/O'Reilly inquisition that hyper-focusses on one small part of an issue in an effort to debunk the truth. But anyway. I never missed Mr. K's point. I simply wanted to give a useful example of how IM can be used. And to answer the question regarding new players learning the ropes. Well, I contribute in this way. During game play: 1) Inform them of what is going on if they don't see it. 2) Answer questions if they have some. 3) Suggest better moves if they make a mistake. I.E. double basing, spreading thin, attacking a non-agressive neighbor who is not a threat. My "during game play" suggestions are independent of my position. I understand that the initial question that was posed by Monte could be considered "loaded" in the sense that some may assume the inherent PGA that will ensue via "in game coaching". With that being said, not to get involved in unfair play, I coach while sitting in a corner with a 8 stack with nothing better to do. Also, after I get knocked out, I may help a player out with a different strategy. Out of game play: 1) watch others play and make suggestions. 2) Write forum posts So anyway, I have provided more food for thought. I expect some to feed on it and hyper-focus on points that may not have been thoroughly explained. |

at 8:00 PM, Monday January 31, 2011 EST Yeah Reminder, you are straight wrong, this game is so easy that yes you and a good partner would easily know to make the exact same moves without chat. In fact if you are good at all you should know exactly how the top players will move, accounting for silent truces (you have to pay a bit more attention to that) then you should definitely see how a game could play out. I'm definitely right 90% of the time about who wins in 5k.

at 8:46 PM, Monday January 31, 2011 EST high tables is about not only knowing what's the easiest way to connect but
knowing what moves will block/free a connect for other players - which can cause your loss knowing what players to attack knowing which player will suicide and which player is 2 busy to attack you back - pretty much everything i said is "you're wrong dddy" |

at 10:25 PM, Monday January 31, 2011 EST Oh my. First of all, I have to agree with Gurgi here, it's not enough to know when and where to connect, you also need to know who you can hit, also see all other diplomacy on the board.
It'll suffice to say that I won my fair share of 2k and 5k games against those who often take blues and above to believe you're "slightly" exaggerating. I'd love to see you calling those wins tho, can't imagine you being more than 50% right even after round 2. Anyway, month's over, see (some of) you playing low tables and tourneys where my noob self have his laugh beating your godly skills. Ah this start of the month, quite intriguing in a way that most "pros" magically lose more than half of their "skill" when they don't play with their company. Good luck, and have fun. I know I will... soon. |
