Hi! I'm developing a turn-based strategy game which might be interesting to DiceWars fans. It is based on the province system as well as DiceWards, but the garrisons consist of playing cards. So, I call my game CardWars :)
Screenshot: http://general.civfanatics.ru/cardwars/cw.PNG Download CardWars v.0.5.2.22 (for free, 1,8 Mb): http://general.civfanatics.ru/cardwars/cardwars.zip Players: 2 - 9. Multiplayer: hotseat. System requirements: 256 Mb, 500 MHz, OS Windows, 800x600 Gameplay video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdjsI-b6rlA Controls Left click - select a province. Right click on the adjacent province - attack it or move garrison there Double click - cards arrangement mode Right click - clear selection Button in the top left corner - next turn Wheel click - hide/show garrisons Game site and scenario descriptions: http://general.civfanatics.ru/cardwars/ I hope you like it and I'd be grateful for your comments on: :) Playability and re-playability of the game Strongess/weakness of AI Interesting/boring scenarios And anything else concerning my game |

Does your forum have an edit button? |

if you did all that on your own, I would say not a bad game It lacks a lot of the things that make kdice addicting and great but it's not the same game type so that's to be expected. It could improve with speedier games. I tried the African pie scenario: I was gonna win but closed it cuz wayyyyy to boring after you are sure you will win. On the other hand, the smaller maps are too easy and over too fast. The mid sized maps seem ok although I didnt spend that much time. I also think there is a problem with the strategic aspect. I can't explain exactly but the fact that you don't know all opponents cards doesnt use the full strategic potential. The unpredictabilty of dice rolls is a bonus for kdice, the unpredictabilty of your hidden cards isn't the same. The AI is not a total disaster but after a few turns you kinda know how its working. It will need to be improved to keep a person motivated to keep playing against AI only. That's what kdice has to offer. Ok, there are a lot of morons here but at least they play more challenging or unexpected than AI (I know, not all). so in conclusion: not bad and good luck with this game now if only you could replace those cards with dice stacks and create an online heads up kdice tourney for me :-) PS: I know its long and boring but it's for General CFR |

I'll definitely continue experiments with gameplay and make AI and interface enhancement. Multiplayer is also planned. |
