And to your other question, treating humans who live and work here in our country, whether they got here illegally or not, with basic human rights should be the responsibility of our country. If you disagree, you disagree. There's really no need to argue anymore about it.

What an asinine statement. I ask questions and attempt to promote debate, yet all I ever get from the other side are sly remarks aimed at belittling my position/ethics/personality/intelligence.

OK, I work with 4 African-Americans (one is my direct boss), two Latin-Americans, a Filipino, and about 18 white folks. My sister in-law is Peruvian. My best friend is black-Puerto Rican. My wife is Italian-American (2nd generation). I fucking know people live here that don't look like me.

We had a fucking revolution here to better our country a couple hundred years ago. Why is it our responsibility to make everyone else's life on earth a little better? We can't even solve problems FOR OUR OWN PEOPLE in this country yet you somehow want to concentrate on the World. How short-sighted is that?

This isn't what I said. I said we have a responsibility to treat people in our country with basic rights. Regardless of how they got here.

Is there anything more "short-sighted" than assuming a nationalistic exclusionary approach to governing a nation will benefit the people of that nation?

So if 5 million illegals are working in America......and countless millions of Americans are out of work........doesn't it make more sense to boot the illegals and allow "real" Americans to be employed?

We have real problems for OUR country. It's time we solve OUR problems before we worry about other countries peoples.
