i disagree with this statement "repetition of lyrics for 20 years... fucking lame." i disagree simply bc there is nothing new under the sun... so yeah, shit and themes get repeated... imo, there are two sides of artistry...there's an innovative side...and there is a trite side (redone with innovation ofc)...this where you have art that ppl have heard and seen 1000 times and yet the way it's delivered seems innovative and/or inspiring...that's what makes your list even better than you've realized,bc alot of the rap mcs you chose have amazing delivery, i.e. Method Man...and that's what makes lil wayne so appealing. lil wayne says shit you've heard for 20 years, but his delivery is always innovative and that's what makes him appealing and there is nothing wrong with that...im sure if you name your top 10 songs ever, somewhere you'll have overlapping themes |
