Hey guys, some of you might remember rifty's Euro 2008 competition and how fun it was so I thought I'd do one for the World Cup, if people are interested. All credit goes to rifty for making up the idea. The concept is simple, you guess the results of each game in the world cup and people compete to get first on the leaderboard and to get as many correct predictions as possible.
The points work out as, 5 for a correct result, 10 for the correct score. The second round and quarter final games will be worth 7 and 14, the semis will be 8 and 16 and the final 10 and 20. All you have to do to is post your predictions. The fixtures in the next three days are as follows: June 11th: South Africa v Mexico Uruguay v France June 12th: South Korea v Greece Argentina v Nigeria England v U.S.A June 13th: Algeria v Slovenia Serbia v Ghana Germany v Australia Have fun playing :) |

at 11:33 AM, Thursday June 10, 2010 EDT One of my favorite random quotes from a movie.....Quigley Down Under (1990).....The movie is set in 19th century Australia and Major Ashley-Pitt is in the English Army:
Major Ashley-Pitt: In our experience, Americans are uncouth misfits who should be run out of their own barbaric country. Matthew Quigley: Well, Lieutenant... Major Ashley-Pitt: Major. Matthew Quigley: Major. We already run the misfits outta our country. We sent 'em back to England. |

South Africa (1) v Mexico (4). South Africa gets the stadium on their feet by scoring first, but Mexico quickly rebounds and is up 3-1 at halftime. Uruguay (1) v France (1) June 12th: South Korea (0) v Greece (2) Will be cheering for Korea, but I really don't see the upset happening. Argentina (1) v Nigeria (0) England (2) v U.S.A (2) June 13th: Algeria (1) v Slovenia (1) Serbia (2) v Ghana (0) Germany (3) v Australia (1) |
