at 7:43 AM, Friday May 21, 2010 EDT i got to talk to hh the other day about the reasoning behind her actions, was a pleasant convo. loo and lp were there too.
whereas i at first assumed that she was a butt buddy of zoids, apparently she isnt. she seems to me like a naive/optimistic teen queen. like if you fool me 10 times, shame on you, but if you fool me ELEVEN times, well... ummm... you're not going to fool me 11 times. hh's main beef was that she saw the thrax bannings as personal grudges and not fair sentences. in her mind, its never right to permanently ban anyone. she agrees that there should be an escalation in penalties, but she thought zoid was only to the point that his main should be banned for 3 months max. loo actually agreed with her about the idea that permabans are too strong of a punishment. i guess there is a population of kdicers (who tend to be forgiving/trusting/merciful) who are against the idea of permabans. thats cool, its good to have different thought groups in a community. but im pretty sure that the majority of kdice agrees with the concept of permabans. i tried to explain to hh that basically the zoid/thrax battle has devolved into a penis-size fight, where neither of them can back down now, because if one of them does, he is admitting that the other one has a larger penis. and no dude wants to admit that, unless its jesse lusting after travis. whereas hh thought this was childish, and therefore thrax's decisions were too biased, loo understood this, as shes like a decade older and has a better handle (and more handles) on male penises. oh yeah, and somewhere in the middle of this conversation, lp asked hh to unban drgayzoid, which she did, because, once again, she doesnt believe in the idea of permabanning. (im sure if lp had asked her to release the niggler, she wouldve done that too, but lp didnt, sorry chase). i tried to caution hh that she should really try to get in personal contact with thrax, because it looked really bad for kdice that the only two kdice mods (that are slightly present) are at each others throats in what appears to be a elementary school battle. blah blah blah, special olympics, even if you win youre still retarded. it seems that before they communicated personally (which i think wouldve been productive, because then thrax would realize that hh isnt just zoids lackey), Ryan mustve realized that this situation is bad, and made a decision. tbh, id rather hh still be a mod, because kdice desperately needs a LOT more mods, and this is a step in the wrong direction. i just wish that she wouldnt be a rogue mod, but would talk to the other mods (mostly thrax) before making major major decisions. if anything, this episode should prove to us how important communication is between the mods, and how important a united front is. a house divided cannot stand. |

. . . btw, perma-ban is like capital punishment. of course some people are against it. |

If by "to begin with" you mean after you banned me for doing nothing wrong, then yea, that's about when I started to hate you. |

at 1:24 PM, Friday May 21, 2010 EDT bcm's ban was far too harsh imo, but then again, that was perpetuated by tcs, who gave kate a + for the same thing. I agree with thrax in that being able to use your main account is a privilege, and I don't think it's unfair for mains to be permabanned.
I'm p sure most of this ridiculousness would have been avoided if the mods just communicated, as in hh contacted thrax about this instead of just going rogue. |

at 6:05 PM, Saturday May 22, 2010 EDT I have no idea whats going on here, much less whats going on behind the curtains.
I just want to express bewilderment over the reasons why holyharlequin had been made mod in the first place... iow, who had the (seeming lack of) brains to make a person thats on (surely not only) my list of people who I saw displaying bad game manners (aka "the shitlist") a mod ... a repeat offender to boot. ok so that doesnt mean a lot, since probably half the players are on the shitlist by now... but the thing is there's still plenty of decent people in the other half! humorous, smart, knowledgeable, fair long-time competent members. hell i can already spot a couple of them in this thread alone. yes we need more mods, or rather more moderation. but it has to be good moderation, this is where i disagree with the full monte. rather no mods than bad mods. even the full monte would probably make a decent mod, but i mean cmon...holyharlequin? |
