Hello Mod, its me, SG....

I know that sometime you don't answer all my prayers (you still let GB and Zoid PGA and Leek is still alive) but I hope you will listen to this prayer. I really need help in this difficult time in my life.

You made the nuke a bannable offense and since then I haven't seen it much. There is a new weapon being use by the same fucking cheaters as usual and it needs to be stopped.

Ping bombs or flooding users is running rapant on the tables. This occurs when during your turn you unexpectedly lag and endless amount of refreshes are useless. Although I cannot point fingers at who is using this attack, I have attatched a screen shot of 5 players "away" and the 6th player being forced.

Take note who is still around.

Thanks Mod, I hope you take the time to give a shit.

SG

ping bomb = multiple pings right? which is basically what a DDoS is...
a ping is between 56 bytes - 65 kB. anything >= 2^16 bytes will be rejected by the network. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ping_of_death

So even if zoid was smart enough to send 65,535 kB pings, that is an insignificant amount of data, even if it's flowing constantly. for it to fuck up your game, he'd need a ton of computers doing it.

as for the accusation that he's ping bombed specific people (IPs), very few people have a static IP-- most people on standard Internet connections have a new IP every time they sign on. for him to ping bomb a person, that would mean it'd be zoid vs. comcast/verizon/whatever ISP the person is using. and again, NSA would be involved...

also, yes, i feel inadequate for using wikipedia as my citation for all this shit, but it explains it correctly.

and oh yeah-- my point on the IPs is that he'd need to know your IP every time you log on...

If two years ago I told kdice that a player could roll a 0 and kill any island on the map you would call me crazy. You would say there is no possible way for anyone to do that besides Ryan fucking around.

Today I tell you there is a way for players to force other players to lag and you doubt it? You actually say that it couldn't happen?

Pull your head of your ass and open your eyes.
