I know that sometime you don't answer all my prayers (you still let GB and Zoid PGA and Leek is still alive) but I hope you will listen to this prayer. I really need help in this difficult time in my life. You made the nuke a bannable offense and since then I haven't seen it much. There is a new weapon being use by the same fucking cheaters as usual and it needs to be stopped. Ping bombs or flooding users is running rapant on the tables. This occurs when during your turn you unexpectedly lag and endless amount of refreshes are useless. Although I cannot point fingers at who is using this attack, I have attatched a screen shot of 5 players "away" and the 6th player being forced. at 3:22 PM, Tuesday May 4, 2010 EDT Must add to this as well, got a couple of fights when I fought for 1-2 and got ping-attacked. That is especially intriguing when we are the only 2 people at the table and the beginning of the game is smooth as baby's skin (no lag whatsoever).

But a ping ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ping )is just checking to see the round-trip time to send a packet to a host. A ping itself is quite legal. If you want to do it, on a PC go to Start Menu->Run type in "cmd" and type in a site like "ping meatspin.com" On a mac, go to utilities->network utilities->ping. Hackers bring down sites by having a bunch of computers sending tons of requests back/forth from a server, called a distributed denial of service attack ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denial-of-service_attack ) because they're receiving so much shit that no one else can. Imagine 1000 computers constantly refreshing kdice.com... This is quite illegal, requires banks of computers, and the resources necessary to hide their traces so that NSA can't track it... not exactly what you'd expect a 17 year old in his parents' house in Canada to do to win virtual points on a dice game. More likely the problem is ryan's servers blow because he puts 0 effort into the maintenance of this site, and people overreact when zoid is at the table. QED bitchesssss.... |
