Shame it's just another move towards socialism...

Let's create even MORE government dependant families.....I can afford it.

What's the over/under for private health insurance's death? I give it 3 years.....then it will be fully socialized.

Can't wait for the U.S. government to run yet another program into the ground. Good job dems, your plan to ruin this country gets a little more footing every single day.

more reason why we need education reform, Thomas Jefferson is being taken out of history textbooks and being replaced by John Calvin and Thomas fucking Aquinas in the list of people who had an influence on the ideals that are present in the Constitution...

not only that, but people like Thurgood Marshall (won brown v board, first black supreme court justice) and Cesar Chavez (mexican MLK) are being taken out of highschool history textbooks because they arent 'historically important'

this is the next thing i will rant on now that semi-universal healthcare is in place

I read that around 50 million Americans didn't have any health insurance.. What would u do with them if it wasn't for this bill? Cuz here in Europe we read a lot about Obama's reasons and i'd like to know ur views, i mean normal people views about it.. Except that the bill and Obama suck..:) Why does it suck if it insures health insurance for previously uninsured Americans?

*takes a step back*
*takes a deep breath*

I will agree that the health insurance industry is fairly broken and with the private sector hurting so badly for the past 2 years more and more of the burden is being passed on to the workers. I know this because I'm one of these people. In JUST TWO YEARS my premiums have gone up 50% while my coverage copays have more than double and my stop pay ceiling almost tripled. Three years ago when my was was pregnant it cost us a TOTAL of $150 from the moment of conception to birth. Today, if we get pregnant (fingers crossed), It could cost upwards of $1,000 depending on how smooth the delivery is and how long the hospital stay is.

So believe me, I know things need to be fixed. But adding an additional 30 million people to the coverage, a good portion of which already pay little or no taxes, is absolutely absurd.

Democrat propaganda tells us that this will save money in the long run/bring about more preventative care/no more emergancy rooms packed/yadda yadda yadda. The bottom line is that private care physicians are already in high demand without flooding the market with 30 million more customers. There is absolutely no foresight at all being used by the U.S. government on this legislation.

Democrats are simply shoving down our throats whatever they feel will pass RIGHT NOW. They know their time is short and they may lose the majority in the fall. So they are passing this now.......unprepared. My fear is that it will completely stall our healthcare system.

I also fear that private insurance will eventually be pushed out by cheaper, goverment controlled coverage. More BIG GOVERNMENT from an administration that promised smaller government.

We are also doing this at a time when the deficit and yearly spending is at an alltime high.

The bill being passed is rushed and there isn't any money to pay for it NOW.

Way to avoid the real issue thrax, your 'Skins signed the sex cannon. How do you feel about that?

If the opposition wasn't acting purely like obstructionist then maybe there would have been another option other then NO! Same bullshit the dem's pulled when Bush was in office. Come up with a better idea to fix a broken system, and healthcare in America is a broken system. Don't comeback with tort reform, which should be explored but is not a panacea, or health care spending accounts. Those are real solutions just parts of a potential larger soultions that the Repub's never floated they just picked a few small ideas as talking points.

ok, that was the conservative view, now for the more liberal view

Its about time we moved away from the Darwinian system of 'if you dont have money, then you dont get treated' business. The idea of a universal form of healthcare is not something that will cause private health providers and things of that nature to collapse, big businesses and the american government have been sleeping together for the last 100 years, i doubt there would be any reason that the government would leave their fuckbuddy out in the cold so to speak on this bill. hell, they probably had to run it by every major healthcare provider before it was even put onto paper.

I would much rather our government spend money on this than on any war in a desert on the other side of the world.

That war in the desert has just as much self-serving interest in big business as your statement about healthcare.

Difference here is that the government can show insurance companies the cold shoulder and take it upon themself to be the lone provider. Our government can't, however, start shitting out barrels of oil from underneath the White House.
