Did it have an influence on mentalities and self perceptions in Europe, Asia, Africa, or even Arabs ? Not at all. I talk about Bin Laden. Terrorism is nothing new for anybody except americans. |

at 8:37 AM, Thursday March 4, 2010 EST It's a detail. (and what u say is partially wrong, i repeat terrorism is nothing new except for americans. Safety precautions in airports, but also stations, schools, industries, etc already existed before. It just have been enforced a little bit)
I'm talking about self perception of a nation (the USA) in regard to the world. |

at 8:41 AM, Thursday March 4, 2010 EST Before 2001, people in the USA thought they lived on an isolated island.
After 2001, americans understood that what they do in the world can have direct and terrible consequences in their own lives. That's what I'm talking about. But it's nothing new there for anybody except americans. |

I'm pretty sure (but you can check french wikipedia) that the US expended lives saving/helping/aiding your country well before 2001. |

Another uninformed statement. Please research Oklahoma City Bombings, Atlanta Olympics, Klu Klux Klan, Kent State, Hijacked Planes, The Unibomber, US Embassy Bombings, etc. The USA has a long history of dealing with incidents of terrorism on our own turf and abroad. |
