at 3:01 AM, Wednesday March 3, 2010 EST Charles, China has been financing the west's deficit spending for some time. The relationship is strongly interdependent, and China's export based economy would collapse with the loss of the American market.
Sure, China has reinvested it's cash reserves within, and abroad. The question becomes though, with an increasingly global China will it's pro growth policies hurt it more then hurt it? Massive investments in commodities for planned growth could hamper domestic plans, and already property bubbles are becoming apparent in many of the fastest growing areas. We'll see, but as it stands Osama bin Laden still is the most important man of the decade. China was nowhere near as powerful as it was now between 2000-2005. |

at 3:59 AM, Wednesday March 3, 2010 EST ya, yo're right Bison.
But now, they try to develop their domestic market to get out of this interdependance. It just arrives earlier that they wished it. (Europe has other problems to rule but not this one, so deep.) The only way to not collapse for the USA would begin by: - high level tax for richest but the middle class too now ! (because it's already too late) - complete and severe reforms of the banking system "to get it back in the box". - tarifs - probably massive public investments in new industries. (but which one ? Nobody knows ! green energy but what else ?!) - close the US bases outside, reduce the army, stop the agressive policy of war. etc All things Obama should have done since the beginning. But he didnt understand how terrible is the situation. Too late now. And anyway he wont be able to act because he lost his majority. So... In the 30's, the USA had: - a positive trade balance. - a positive invest balance - powerful industries - stocks of, gold - no debt It was almost a cool situation in comparison with today ! |

at 7:31 AM, Wednesday March 3, 2010 EST I don't care.....98% of the world couldn't name the Chinese President if they had his picture in front of them. What a wonderful country, China. Let's censor everything so we can keep our populace under control. Let's keep most of our population poor and treat them like animals.
I just think it's funny that you think the U.S. will "collapse". I guess you're entitled to your opinion. This is China's future...........they better save their money. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/columnists/rosemary_righter/article6736697.ece |
