hbar is h/2pi or verse vica. The energy of a waveform can be expressed as E = h nu or E = hbar omega where nu is cycles per second while omega is radians per second. Omega is used when a waveform is described as e^i omega t. Neither hbar or h are infinitesimally small. Epsilon is used to express something infinitesimally small. |

at 1:20 PM, Wednesday March 10, 2010 EST i am aware that plank's constant is not infinately small. i tried to explain the confusion earlier. i was using a diferential calculus "h" which, at least in all the calculus classes i have taken, is used to signify an infinately small number or movement in space. I know it was an extremeley bad letter for me to pick. especially in a discussion using hbar and relating to wavelength.
so replace all my "h"s with with a lim(1/X) as X=> sideways 8 |
