Happy i misspoke, I have not found any reliable study that says that Religion increases a populations productivity. I have how ever found several that suggest that it is a plaussible, but largely untestable, cause of unexplainable increases of productivity. Unfortunately i dont think there is a practical way to do such a study and make it accurate.

I have found 3 that have attributed religion as the cause for an increase in productivity and happiness. However I have deemed these studies as unreliable since they are attributing a cause and effect relationship without eliminating enough variables to make a valid claim.
