Remove spectator chat once a game is in progress?

What's the point of allowing spectator chat for games in progress?

I have people (hi foo foo / Leek) follow me around from table to table for the sole purpose of harassing me telling everyone at the table to kill me not to trust me bla bla bla. Isn't that what reviews are for? If someone wants revenge, they should sit in and play. Sitting on the sidelines commenting and influencing the game is just lame.

Tournaments are worse. The chat is used for people in the game to flag and / or strategise. By the end of the tournament after 15 people have bombed out, the chat is just full of bitter people spamming not to trust one person or another. It makes it hard to keep track of who has flagged to who etc. I really dont see the point of spectator chat once a game is in progress...

"telling everyone at the table to kill me not to trust me bla bla bla." - and that is so unjustified? ;DD if you are a bastard, people should know. for example, after this forum topic i won't trust you anymore.

its more a general comment, not just regarding me. If you are too closed minded to see that - hey, thats fine. The 2k and 5k tables are bad enough with all the buddy buddy people. Having spectators sit in dictating who should be killed just gets plain annoying.

Lets face it, in tourneys especially, everyone feels hard done by when they are eliminated. If you get even 5 bitter people loading the chat box with shit, it gets annoying. You can win fairly, and then have someone follow you around saying PGA PGA FUCKING CHEAT LIAR DONT TRUST ETC. You might have done nothing wrong, but that person just wants to ruin your tournament like you ruined theirs (fairly or not). What's the point of allowing spectators to influence the game?

/mute playername can be useful

Another way to prevent people from telling everyone in a tournament that you flagged to someone then killed them is by NOT FLAGGING TO SOMEONE THEN KILLING THEM. Just a thought...

Don't wait 15 rounds until last place guy has two lands and no dice and the game is almost over, constantly saying "I flagged to leek", then prolong the game protecting someone and backstabbing leek.

yea leek had a right to be pissed... it was a bit of a circle jerk but he got screwed. I'm not talking specific scenarios here though. It's easy to get clouded!

Think about it, 99% of the time when someone cries to high heaven about PGA's or cheating it's rubbish. It's not so much the annoyance factor that you can just /mut. It's them having any influence over the game at all.

We also have people like fiero who will sit and watch 2k games all day narrating and picking people apart (not me - i got no issue with him!) but never sitting in the game. Players who just want other people to lose points, or want to help their friends, without risking their own ass.

Just a thought... what's the harm in removing spec chat for games in progress?

integration is one of the people who uses the chat to follow people around in a tourney complaining once they are out... case in point

and i didn't say remove chat. remove SPECTATOR chat during games!
