Inbreeding is associated with the redneck reaches of the deep south, and clearly you're not familiar with this area enough to know that this is the wrong state for that. North of I-10 from MS on east, a little bit in some of the areas in the sticks near the MS and TX borders, but not in most of LA and sure as hell not in New Orleans. I don't care what you've seen on TV, most people here don't speak with southern drawls or listen to country music or live in trailers, nor is the culture anything close to what you see on say the Dukes of Hazzard. Yes, those places exist, and they're not that far a drive from here, but it's not us. We do have rural people here, but they're Cajuns and not southern rednecks. Many if not most of them speak a regional dialect of French and their accent is reflective of their bilingual roots. The cuisine of course is unique, as are the traditions and culture. It's fine to be a homer for your team, but personal insults against an entire region of fans is not cool. Not being able to get your insults right is even less cool. |

Hurricane Ivan? That was '04... the coach and QB in question were Jim Haslett and Aaron Brooks, respectively. You'd have wanted to see them blow away in the wind too if you were stuck with them. As luck would have it, though, they wouldn't last much longer. In 06, we got Sean Payton and Drew Brees... and well the rest is history. WHO DAT!!! |
