Our economy is worse off then it was a year ago. We are still loosing jobs. Unemployement and underemployement are still on the rise. the national debt and deficit have both increased. Both healthcare reform bills are absolutely crap. So tell me why was is that you all wanted to elect a bunch of democrats to run our country?

I'm not saying that the GoP was doing a stellar job. I mean hell most of them don't even stand for anything anymore. But at least with them our economy was strong

Not sure how you're going to blame the economy on Obama. The man inherited an economy on the brink of collapse, banks acting like retards, brokerage firms selling high risk insurance securities and then betting against them, the feds getting too involved in the lending system to try and prop up underprivledged families and not knowing their heads from their assholes. There are a lot of problems that were inherited, some from the deregulation of the financial sector, others from dumb legislation passed by the democratic congress and then even more dealing with the war. The unemployment isn't spiraling out of control like it was, and seems like it's getting close to the bottom, but this isn't going to be a recession/depression that we pull out of in a year or two. People are still nervous to reinvest in their business and seem to be treading water till they feel more comfortable.

I think this country needs what we had with Clinton, a republican congress and a democratic president. I think having one party in complete control of the executive and legislative branch leaves us with almost no checks and balances. I do think Obama has given us a little more credence on the world scene that we had lost Bush. Partisan politics has taken over Washington worse than I can remember, and it's causing us to have god awful bills filled with retarded ass legislation. Ted Kennedy would be turning over in his grave if he saw what they're pushing through as the health care bill. It's sad that party politics has become so fashionable.

Hoe i agree, we cant blame all of our problems on the current administration. However they have also done little to alleviate it. They have spent more time trying to hurry a half ass health care bill through that is probably going to put us in a worse situation.

Really i guess i blame most of our legislative problems on spineless politicians who like to play the party line politics rather then sticking to what they believe in.

as far as the banking and credit problems i blame irresponsible lenders and borrowers.

And im really tired so im going to stop posting till ive had some sleep.

What we face now is the result of a collective fuckup spanning more then 40 years covering many different administrations and ideologies.

You know what would be nice? The two major parties stopping all the mud slinging and working TOGETHER to get some shit done that actually serves "we the people"

Instead it's all corrupt, self-serving bullshit that either:

1. assists a minority to continue to have all the power and wealth while keeping the majority in positions of serfdom

2. provides a system of welfare that will decrease production, devalue our dollar and encourage people to be lazy looking for handouts

Abolish the party system and put in term limits and get our politicians working for the good of the nation rather than trying to do what will get them special interest money and re-elected because they didn't create any waves and do what needs to be done.

All we're doing now is just constantly passing shit off with band-aids that will fall off and our future will be bleak if we continue down this path.
