Kdice has changed - for the worse

Most of the old players who used to play the top level tables have left. the player culture has changed, leaving a void which was filled by inexperienced, culture-less noobs that make kdice now unbearable. It has mostly turned into vflag-fests and mindless flame wars. this post is not about tournaments.
To the old players: why are you still here? To the new guys: what is enjoyable at the style of game you play? |

I enjoy the tactics, and reading the board. I enjoy that the players often get the positions their play have earned them, instead of being ganged up on 2v1. I enjoy that lower players also are left to fight for the position their play has earned them, instead of arbitrarily getting killed by #1 for dom. Richard Garfield has invented a game where all players has 1 dice, placed on the 6. Each turn each player can remove either 1 or 2 points from one of the opponents. If you lose your last point, you're out, and the last player standing wins. This game is basically 0% strategy and 100% diplomacy. And it's not (to me at least), a very good game. Kdice in the old way was more similar to this. The tactic skills didn't matter as much as the diplomatic skills. |

Round 2: Blue has 8 territories and builds a lucky 7 stack. Red and Green border blue and immediately flag to him (in round 2!!!) None of the other 4 players counter because they're too dumb to realize that flagging in round 2 is the same thing as trucing. Red, Green, and Blue kill the remaining board. Red & Green fight for 2nd. Blue gets first with only about 8 or 9 territories and the player that gets 2nd ends up with the highest dom. This is how most games play out on KDice nowadays. Where is the tactical strategy in this? How is this not a weak form of diplomacy? This is why KDice is pretty boring these days and it was NOT the "old" players that brought on this style. |

I took the "new" style to mean how it's mostly played now, and the "old" style to be more like 'dasfury's guide. |

a)being eliminated 7th b)flagging/trucing and possibly getting 2nd I know what would be in my interest. |

Trucing is different, but most people don't truce at all in KDice anymore. It's all about vFlagging to the 1st player that builds an 8 stack, whether that player is in the middle or not. What is fun about flagging 2nd in round 1 and watching somebody else play the game and fight for position?
