So, im going to address a mentality that you have that really pisses me off as not one of the "top players". I feel that the best way to do this is to go through some of your quotes from the ridiculously long forum and explain
Why the hell is this NOT an issue at lower tables? Does it not still "ruin the integrity of the competition"? I used to compete (and it was a challenge and a goal for me) for the top 100 spots. I mostly stayed at 500 tables. Does that mean that cheating and unfair play that happens on the 500 tables doesn't matter because the integrity of my competition doesn't matter? Why is it that integrity need only be found on the top tables??? Ryan: But I'm only concerned that this stays out of the top players. Top players need to be about playing well and not who you know. Ok, cool, im not a top player, guess it's fine and dandy if I play all about who i know. forget playing well, i dont matter, my competition doesn't matter... i need not have integrity!! PGA FOR ME CUZ IM NOT AT THE TOP! Let's quote that again "Ryan: But I'm only concerned that this stays out of the top players". Ryan: KDice is a great game and to take it to the next level the unsportsmanlike personalities need to be gone. Unless of course you are not at the top. Ryan has made it very clear this issue only matters at the top. In which case, play on all you unsportsmanlike personalities out there! just don't get in the top 20 and you can be a cheater all you want! Ryan: we want some integrity and those without will get booted. See above. Does not apply to those ryan finds to be lower. Ryan: Rigor, if you don't care about being competing for a top spot go play the lower tables and stop worrying about what's fair. OMG RYAN! Really??? did you seriously just say that? I feel like all of the people that are not the top 50 you have mentioned should be in an uproar. "go play the lower tables and stop worrying about what's fair". Fairness doesn't matter at lower tables. You said it Ryan. Right there. Do we really matter that little to you?? You seem to deem fairness so much (i believe you told mike_mike that the game should be fair over fuN) yet it doesn't matter if the lower tables are unfair. Ok. cool. Thanks for being concerned with the play of the average person. Ryan: Johnson213, Yes, most people play the game in a good way and the majority don't care about the top players. This whole culture change doesn't have anything to do with the regular player. It's purely about the top players and the integrity of the competition. Most people aren't really competing for a top spot. Why not? Is it not a problem with the entire culture? Is it really just the elite that cheat? Just because someone has to fight hard to earn 4,000 pts doesn't meant that it isn't a competition to them. Just because someoen doesn't think they can make it to the top (or even want to try), that doesn't mean their competition shouldn't be fair. Ryan: Do not take your relationships between games. Its fine to be friends, but play the game as a single entity regardless of relationships. Otherwise it's clearly unfair play. But it's cool people not at the top. We can play unfair, since Ryan doesn't care. Thank you for making it blatantly clear that you do not care about the vast majority of people that play the game. Thank you for showing that those not fighting for the top 25 don't deserve a fair competition. Good God, no wonder some of the top players are elitist, look at the game creator. I know a lot of the top players. I like to chat, so I tend to make connections with people quickly. I like to play the game. I like a fair game. But apparently Ryan is "only concerned that this stays out of the top players". |

at 6:33 PM, Sunday November 9, 2008 EST Relax Debwa, you didn't need to write such a long post on a misunderstanding. I see the point you're trying to make but its bullshit because you're not a regular player! Don't make comments on behalf of a group you don't belong to. You have three trophies and say yourself "I know a lot of the top players".
Most people who play KDice don't give a shit about the top players and don't care about you and your crusade for them. (this is a problem in itself, the rest of the community should look up to the top players playing style which sadly isn't the case). As for your misreading of what I'm saying. I'm focusing on changing the culture personally and manually only for top players because it's possible. It's not possible to do this manually for thousands of other players. For the regular players I have to rely on automatic systems like the RC and reviews. You are seriously reaching if you think I want cheating at all tables (WTF!). So, this post is bullshit. If you truly don't like how the regular players play talk about the RC and reviews and other suggestions to make things better. Don't use this as an excuse to complain about me trying to change the top players - cause thats exactly what it is. I have no respect for this tactic. |

I'm not actually sure about the thinking part. |

at 7:20 PM, Sunday November 9, 2008 EST so apperently an average of 200 games per month, an hour a day at least, doesnt make you a regular player. Ryan i understand its your game and all and you cant police the whole thing but please try not to insult us "non regular players".

at 8:15 PM, Sunday November 9, 2008 EST Don't insult ME madhatmontemurti. If you don't like it go play yahoo games. I'm not listening to your desperate attempts to poke holes in what I'm saying.
For others. If I wasn't clear, I'm defining top players and one group, and regular players as everyone else. So no, playing 200 games per month, and having several trophies puts you in the top player category, not regular. |

at 3:30 AM, Monday November 10, 2008 EST This is Debwa. first of all i would like to post what i had intended to post and had typed out before i realized you had eliminated my chat.
"I certainly appreciate you commenting on this forum and letting me know what it was that you meant with what you were saying. I do not, however, appreciate you calling my post "bullshit". For one, regardless of whether or not I am, in your eyes, a top player, the things you said still had very strong (although apparently inadvertent) undertones of the lack of importance of lower level players. Furthermore, I believe that it is everyone's right and obligation to point out injustices they see, regardless of whether it is happening in their "group" or not. I admit that in my heart of hearts I knew (and hoped) that you did not mean all that you were saying. You seriously misunderstood and misjudged my intentions. I definitely do understand this, however, since most people are trying to come up with reasons for why what you are doing with top players is wrong. However, I did not have this intention in mind. In fact, if you remember, I supported your idea. Like your posts are not about the lower players and the lower tables, my comment had nothing to do with your actions and decisions toward top players. This is not some "bullshit", stupid "tactic" to get you to stop doing things to help with the culture change of top players. I wrote this post to 1. Hear for myself that you did not actually mean what you were saying (or conversely that it really was how you were thinking) and more importantly, 2. Point out that some of the things you have been saying indirectly suggest that you do not care about a large majority of the players. If you do, in fact, care and support fair play all around, it should not insult or upset you in any way to hear that you are accidentally saying some stuff that can easily be interpreted as being "only concerned that this stays out of the top players"." |
