Woohoo, this is what half an hour of free time got me: the alltime leaderboard of KDice medalzzzz!
There are 893 accounts with at least one medal. I might post the entire spreadsheat somewhere but for now I will post the top 25 and add more if it comes out a bit readable. For now I sorted the thing with a higher importance for a gold, silver,.... So my medal count formula = 10X gold + 7X silver + 5X bronze + 3X top25 + #top100. We could take 10 6 4 2 1 but that's open for debate. |

Too many people cheated and got busted for it. Their stats should be completely removed and set back to zero. Now if that was done leaderboards would again have value. |

I will have to disagree with you here. The players on that board, are the best in the game. They have learned every way possible to win, and they have fought consistently for it. I think that in the least it shows their ability to change with an evolving game, and continue to be successful. Whether you think that the points conversions from early months are fair or not is up in the air, but the players on that list are by far, bar none, the best players to play the game. /end of discussion |

at 9:40 AM, Saturday November 8, 2008 EST @MTT: doesn't matter if they pga'd maybe 10 or 20% of their points, theyre still the best, and far ahead from all other, and some of them already got punished - more follow i guess.
@jurg: what about my thoughts? ^^ |

So to be safe, let me just guess your toughts? Knowing you, I bet you are thinking about two hot blonde girls kissing each other and rubbing lotion on each other. Well if you weren't, I bet you are thinking about that right now! |

at 1:45 PM, Saturday November 8, 2008 EST kamik, all kidding aside, you raise a good point. I also have the feeling gold is a bit underweighted compared to blue but the problem is the wide range of the "strength" or "impressiveness" of a top25 spot. Personally i feel like 3 top 6 spots (4,5 or 6) are about as impressive as winning a gold. However 3 20-25 spots might not compare with a gold. Also, taking into account how many gold medals were under heavy debate, for now I felt like not giving them more than 10X. I could increase it if a few more people agree.
I think many top3 medal winners will feel this effort should get a higher weight. Players with a lot of blue medals but no top3 might respond that these values are OK. As a test, I tried a few rankings taking into account different values. The rankings don't change a lot since besides having top3, most of these skilled players also have a lot of blue/white ones so they end up on top in the rankings nomatter what values I enter. I also tried giving a split up weight for blue ( 4-10:4 + 11-25:3) white (26-50:2;51-100:1) + increased values for top3 but that needs a lot more steps for me to calculate all players. Skrumgaer if your stat geniality can magically come up with scientifically defendable values, feel free to post them. |
