honest question: is scheming good for kdice?

ive had my fair share of scheming. i was part of the original cabal. i was part of the flagfest for integral. i AIM pga'd with wish two times in january. i tried to funnel points to chris0123 in one game in march. however, i have come to the conclusion that scheming sucks and is detrimental to the game and the community.

alas, i must admit that i agree with leekstep (dear god, help us all): i believe the game should not include favors carried over from one game to the next. i believe each game should be played fairly.

most of all, i think scheming should become a bannable offense. scheming involves AIMing, PGAing, abusing loopholes, funneling points, community accounts, and who knows what else.

there are groups of kdicers who, at the beginning fo each month, get together and decide how to mess up kdice, or how to outglory the last gloriously annoying scheme from the previous month.

but i was told by someone high up recently that scheming is actually good for the site, and it creates drama, which draws in more traffic. the reason the schemers scheme are many fold: 1) to showoff to each other, 2) to fuck Ryan, 3) to show Ryan which loopholes he needs to close off, 4) to win more.

i dunno, i guess i would rather have less traffic with no scheming than more traffic with idiots running around wreaking havoc.

i just want to know what the kdice community wants. do they want schemes with drama or do they want simple gameplay?

nuff, the fair solution was removing fiero as mod and undoing the arbitrary bans. But, that was the past. Something was done, and right or wrong it was better then nothing in that situation.

Scheming is not good for kdice, and it was what caused that retardation that was the end of July.

Drama does not drive traffic to the site, the percentage of people that care about the forums or the top leaderboard is small. We all need to get off our high horse and go back to appreciating the game for what it is, a game.

Well, regarding what monte originally posted, of course normal gameplay would be much better than schemes with drama. Scheming is only good for those who instigate it, there's no other way around it. But you have to admit, without the drama, this place is boring for the regulars.

I think Ryan is on the right track about teams, as well as other players' suggestions for leagues and clans. I think feuds between teams or planned tournaments will have a more engaging feel to kdice and kill off the need for community-fueled controversy.

Also, if "responsibility" is in the hands of a team leader or if every member of a team is accountable for their actions, then drama or schemes amongst team competition is less acceptable since it is on such a larger scale than the individual player.

Here's my idea-

Perhaps when a player joins, they must choose from a list of teams they can join, and aside from individual score, the team can score as a collective machine, creating a tournament aspect for each month.

To prevent cheating, members of the same team cannot sit at the same table.
However, that doesn't prevent two or more teams from collaborating to help each other.

Also, a "random" table assigner- generated according to your current score could work, for example, a score below 100 would yield a 0 table, a score btw 100-500 would get 100 tables, btw 500-2500 would get 500tables, 2,500-10,000 would get 2,500 tables, and 10,000+ would get 10,000 tables.

Whaddya think?

I m know on k-dice for 2 or 3 months.

I made up my mind to a view things (and thats a consequence of whats u called "sheming")

Never sit on tables >= 500. I wanna play k-dice like its meant to be; on 2500 tables or higher you dont play k-dice, you do politics (which doesnt have anything to do with k-dice skills).

I m sure, its not only me who thinks that way (and this fact results in avoiding higher tables for a lot! of k-dicers)...
