at 4:06 PM, Thursday June 19, 2008 EDT This is Mikeypoo -- I can't post in my main account. Monte, I feel your pain. I had a similar experience in January. I was in a game and I kept lagging -- if I recall correctly -- I asked “a friend” if they would jump in and play. Later I came back and two people were "double sitting" pretending to be me and using the “zero rolling exploit,” to gain me points. I think they were trying to do me a favor. I was given three high profile names that allegedly did it – but I don’t have exact proof – so I won’t mention the names.
Anyway the hijacking was cute for a few games – but eventually I got really angry and demanded they get out of my account -- I was worried Ryan might get mad and ban me because of the exploit. So I logged in during games and tried to wrestle control from the two other people playing my account. The account “Mikeypoo” had a reputation as a clean reformer up to that point and I didn’t want them to sully it. Like you, I wanted to change my password but they wouldn’t log out -- so I couldn’t change it. Finally after what seemed like hours of chasing them around and un-sitting them in games and yelling at them I sent a message to Ryan telling him that my account had been hijacked and begging him to please kick those guys out so I could change my password. Ryan never responded – I was later told I should have emailed him instead of sending an MSN message. Eventually I got the account back. However, (you told me recently) you sent an email telling Ryan I was cheating that day by using that exploit (correct me if I am wrong on the date or incident – its been months) You were understandably worried that that the account was cheating. Days later Ryan banned me. First telling me I was too close to RND -- when I pressed him he pointed out my unusual point gain at the time my account was hijacked and implied that I had exploited the system. I pointed out to Ryan that the same day of the unusual point gain I had sent a message begging him to shut down my account because of the hijackers. Well I have been banned ever since. So I feel your pain. I gained points out of the hijacking but was banned. Admittedly, and more importantly, I should have known better than publicly support RND that may have hurt me more than anything. Mikeypoo -- who had been ranked number 3 all time last fall -- will probably never play kdice again -- That is good -- Its better not being a crazy addict dice freak. However what really bothered me was the hit it gave my reputation; I have made a lot of RL friends in kdice so that matters to me. Three Points: 1) As you said -- Never give your password to anyone – even your buddies. 2) Monte, would you do me a favor someday and tell Ryan that my account was hijacked the day that exploit was used 3) Again man I feel your pain. Perhaps players will give you some sympathy help. Yours respectfully, Mike Y. Poo "java.lang.Exception: You are not allow to post" Reply java.lang.Exception: You are not allow to post |
