I have played this game for over 1 year; practically its entire life. I have made an enormous amount of friends here, had some of the most interesting and tantalizing conversations of the year were right here, on kdice.com. I enjoyed the game -- but mostly because of the great friendships, and spunky personalities that it seemed to foster.
On many occasions I have likened the upper eschelon of kdice to professional wrestling. Many of the characters and people are 'larger than life' and many play roles that they have either created, or were created for them -- sortof an impromptu form of creative entertainment for those inclined. Ever since I met and began talking to Ryan, deep down I felt as if he were playing a role too, akin to Vince McMahon, who for many years played the role of "evil president." Sadly, more recently Ryan's act seems to have gone to his head -- gone are the days of playing the game, and enjoying the people. Some background. For many months now, myself, as well as a few other vocal players have requested repeatedly to have rules and guidelines posted. We were interested in team games, censorship, and the definition of PGA -- all these requests were completely ignored. Recently, Ryan posted once to the forum, declaring "PGA" to be unfair and "therefore cheating", however subsequent requests for clarification, as well as an immmense crying out from the kdice community were not only ignored, but completely erased from the site with no explanation. This is a recurring trend in Ryans actions lately: CENSURE with no EXPLANATION; and while some have come to his defense, after all, it is "his game" -- he would have nothing without his players, and his draconian and totalitarian treatment of them in recent months is not only unfounded, but dispicable. KDICE IS NOTHING WITHOUT ITS PLAYERS. In the last week, Ryan has banned, muted, or benched, numerous players without cause. He has given no explanation, and quite honestly I don't think he has one. He has repeatedly singled out certain players based on accusations that are ABSOLUTELY UNTRUE in the current time, and has ignored a much, much larger group of people who do infact do exactly what he has deemed cheating -- and they do it blatantly, in the open, and WITHOUT FEAR OF REPRISAL. I have asked him why -- but expect no response beyond unwarranted CENSORSHIP and deletion of this thread, as he has so FRIVILOUSLY AND REPEATEDLY done in the past. Ultimately, I believe the problem is that Ryan chooses to attempt to control the kdice population, something he really has no business doing -- and certainly has no business doing based on his half assed one sided enforcement of rules he refuses to make public. Rash unfounded actions which are abhorred by a majority of the community is no way to create a peaceful and friendly environment in which to play. I have many friends, and many "enemies" in this game; but one thing that is constant among them all is their objection to the UNFREE and UNJUST actions which seem to randomly plague the game's creator. The only question left is: When will it happen to you? postscript: ryan, i actually like you (and you know that).. sorry you refused to listen to reason for six months. |

How dare you say that the players are more than just bots. Personally i like the fact that people are afraid to post because he might spike their threads or ban them. I think he creates a nice ordered society. Order is good for all of us punk. You just dont know how to follow order elvis rndsley. Your too big for your britches. Eat your soylent green and shut the fuck up!

at 1:08 AM, Tuesday January 22, 2008 EST Ho HO HO coal and Switches for Ryan.
I am afraid to post in my main because most of my friends are here. Seriously. There were seven people that were banned spontaneously after he deleted vohaul's points. They were some of the best players they were not banned for cheating. they were banned because he had been mad at them at some point in the last year. There are some estimates that up to 20 people were banned. None of them for being cheaters. but because they were at the wrong place at the wrong time. or actually disagreed with him. there is so much anger out there its amazing. ryan admitted that it was not for cheating 'it was a bug, he said. Way to foster a community. Four of the maybe 20 people had requested clear rules only to be ignored over and over again. HO HO HO You made and incredible game. we want kdice to succeed. please realize its not just a small group but a much larger group that feels the same way. |

at 1:32 AM, Tuesday January 22, 2008 EST It was funny how one day many of the top 50 all time were kicked out of the top 50 cuz ryan changed the way the ranking had always been done.
YA. Those are the old guys so why should the new guys care. Because Ryan changes things every month. There is not consistancy. You can play one month by all the rules and become a top 50 all time and then the next month he will change everything and you are punished for following the rules. All the ranking information from March to August had been taken down. The histories of many of the old players have been erased. Ya its just a game. The same thing is going to happen over and over again until ryan hears people. Perhaps the most disturbing thing of all was that ryan erased everybody's profile histories without warning. Everybody lost a years worth of notes, stories and personal histories. He doesnt care what we think, he doesnt care about those of us that put all their battle histories, shit talking histories, phone numbers, emails, web links of all our friends on those profiles, all flushed down the toilet. |

-i don't see why he is obligated to explain anything; it would be a nice gesture, but he's not obligated -kdice is nothing without players, BUT KDICE WILL BE MUCH MORE WITHOUT SOME PLAYERS |

at 9:03 AM, Tuesday January 22, 2008 EST No Rage -- and the forty other people who asked me -- I did not write RND's post. Yes it was very well written. However stylelistically RND's essay throws more molotov cocktails -- which is not how i write. Which is why leekstep would always call me Captain Pussy.
