at 12:13 PM, Saturday December 22, 2007 EST Dear What's left of the Kdice Community, Just wanted to drop a note and say thanks for all the fun times, good laughs and great conversations. I've had a wonderful time with you all and wish you the best. And to my PGE's, I appreciate the time and energy you put into hating me. I am honored. The time has come that I move on... Since September, I have seen this great game just fall apart. From a major game changed to spiked threads, I will not invest my time in a game that does not respect how important the players of a game are. When I first started this game, I thought Ryan was wise and much like a man in charge, he had a group of passionate people dedicated to this game advising him and helping him take this game to it's fullest potential. I was wrong. If anything, the opposite is true. There is very little done for retention of dedicated players and even less listening to them when they do have a valid point. Dedicated players are influencers, your best marketers. Without them, you lose the passion for the game. New players are very important because you have to expect drop-off, but keeping those players who are engaged in the game engaged will create longevity and investment in your game. And by dedicated, I don't mean the top 25, I mean those who are passionate about the game. We all know the RND drama and while I disagreed with most of his style, he was a very important part to this game. Every good story needs a protagonist and an antagonist... with RND, the story of KDICE was complete and exciting. Now, Ryan has slipped into the antagonist role... a dangerous spot for any leader. I respect the work that Ryan does and the amount of time he puts into this game. I truly believe he is doing the best he can with what skills he has. But that is just it. He has not realized yet that he can't be it all. This is a hard lesson to learn... one that I think takes many years to fully realize and one that I hope Ryan comes to understand. Bringing people together and listening to your players will take this game where you want to go. Get someone to help you who isn't a programmer... one that understands how to listen, relate, and reply. I've built many successful brands in my short lifetime and I have seen the problem with Kdice before and will see it again. It's quite common. You're not the answer to the problems of this game, you're are the problem. Once you get that, things will be better. So my final advice... stop being the Brittany Spears of the Video game world, realize what you have, get some help and achieve the full potential of this game. To the players, keep speaking out and creating a dialogue that furthers this game. Speak your opinions and play by your word. Take care of your stacks, DG And for anyone that wants to chat... at 7:37 PM, Monday December 24, 2007 EST How sad is it that a goodbye post have turned into just another thread where people call each other out on the forums for cheating. Is it wrong for someone to just want to say goodbye and try to just think about the good times that they’ve had playing kdice?
Once upon a time, Dicey was like the thousands of others on this site. She refused to get into the politics of kdice. However, seduced by the “dark side†of kdice, she got involved into the politics. She was one of the few people who could stand up to rnd in the end. Dicey, it was great knowing you here. I’ve gotta say that when you got 99th and finally got that trophy was the most hectic last day of the month. It came down to that final game. I don’t really know why I’m writing this since I know that now that I have your screen name, I’ll chat with you from time to time. However, It’s been fun. And as your last change, you should put back your original avatar: http://img.aplayr.com/usr64/25709214.jpg Anyway, enjoy your freedom. It’s been a blast. |

at 8:47 PM, Monday December 24, 2007 EST Dicey,
Don't listen xc keep your current avatar. XC is a fool :P However XCRobin is correct -- this is a hijacked thread. This was a goodbye thread and I would like to bring this back to Dicey's goodbye letter. She was a great player and a great person and she will be missed. She has said her goodbyes in a place where she knows her friends will see it -- in the Kdice forums. She has also explained why she left -- because she feels that a big part of the Kdice community, noobs and elders, have left, and that the old community has disintegrated. These are her opinions. I know her enough to know she didn't come to the decision without a lot of thought. I with XCRobin to one side, and Shamos on the other -- bow my head for a moment of silence, while her soul travels through the deep soil of of Kdiceville and slips silently into other dimensions other virtual worlds to be conquered. Good luck! But -- jumping back to what XCRobin was saying -- I don't understand why anybody that has criticisms of Ryan or his game gets jumped on and called a cheater. It was always my understanding that they were allowed to post criticisms and opinions etc.... There is nothing in the rules against it. Right Grun? Case in point -- r0n -- everybody who knows anything about the game knows that r0n never cheated. He and Panzer took great joy in going after all the people that did cheat; Jdizzle787, a great guy, who has always had great posts, who always backed up Ryan, he is not an 'elitist' just a great guy who doesn't cheat (as far as I know)and cares enough about his community to write a really great post from earlier in this thread; JPC4 one of the team that helped to break up the cabal originally. He was one of the first Kdice cops who changed the game for the good. He is currently a top ten player and he is one of the most intelligent thoughtful players that there has ever been. Nobody who knows him would ever suggest that he is an 'elitist,' or that he cheats. He has defended a lot of the changes Ryan has made; But at the same time he has enough personal integrity to say what he thinks in the forum -- unlike some people. Sometimes I think the 'young-ins' don't get this -- don't get that you can't paint broad brush strokes. Dicey is saying goodbye to her friends and she is telling them why she is leaving. She knows them from kdice -- where else would we expect her to say goodbye to her Kdice friends? There is not another Kdice forum to go to -- people have been punished for trying to create them. We (kdice players) don't have another place to meet and post messages. Let her say goodbye in a place where her friends can see it. Let her say goodbye to her friends with dignity and respect and without fear of her thread being spiked. Ryan i don't think Dicey's post was intended as 'another why i hate Ryan post.' Clearly she has strong feelings about what happened to the game. They are strong enough that she has decided to leave and she wants people to know why. This post i am writing is not an 'I hate Ryan' post. People love your game -- they are passionate about it. To the point of anger and inspiration. If anything its a testament to the skills and dedication and love you put in this game. You've done a great job on this game Ryan. Almost too good! They care about it, and they care what you do to it. This may seem like a burden. But it is a burden that some game producers and web content producers would die for. Is it a problem to have crazed addicts who love your game? You have a dedicated community that cares about your work. That respects what you have done. Please at least try an listen and don't assume they are all cheaters. Or at least -- before you defend people that call other people cheaters -- with overly broad brush strokes -- check and see if they are talking out of their ass first. Certainly there are ton of cheaters out there. But its not just the ones that have criticized your game that are cheaters. And r0n(and other friends of Dicey and friends of Kdice)don't take people like PGA Monitor (heh) so seriously. Look at his # of games. Do we really know this guy? I think Ryan has done a fantastic job. (you really have Ryan) But I also think being able to express yourself without fear of recrimination is part of a healthy gaming community. And I thank you for allowing people to express themselves and i thank you for creating kdice. Merry Christmas Ryan. Merry Christmas Kdice community. Happy holidays to All my friends! Merry Christmas sweet Dicey! And Happy Holidays Kdicefreak and PGA Monitor -- you dorks ;P |

Hi Sophie xD Serriously, look at PGA monitors stats and games played. And his nick. Im pretty sure its 1 of the "older elitist elo times" player. Not a lot of games, but solid play and talk (along with his name) kinda points to "elo times elitist". Who knows, but this is my opinion. And and Madhat, post your main thing about this thread (A++) xD |

You are long-winded blow hard. You are so full of yourself that you cant write simple sentences like a normal person. Only a loser would write essays on a kdice forum. Sorry if i hurt your feelings, I hope i didnt make you cry. Please write me an essay, tell me how you feel about what i said.

The system of calculating points from middle February to August forced top players to play with each other. Calling it "elitism" and labeling this as an anty-Ryan attitude is so ridiculous, that hardly worthy polemic. |
