There's a guy using Cho Seung-Hui as his name.
http://aplayr.com/user/Cho%20Seung-Hui/ Personally, I think this is waaaay out of line, and not funny at all. Possibly ban-worthy? |

at 11:23 PM, Wednesday April 18, 2007 EDT my friends at facebook deleted his account.
secondly, i'd like to put it out there that he is probably NOT Asian and that he's turning this tragedy unjustly into something that begets racism. The reason the facebook committee took down his profile despite freedom of speech is because certain insensitivities are unacceptable, even in a democratic society. Same thing would happen to a facebook site that promulgated any racist sentiments after 9-11. |

at 8:41 AM, Thursday April 19, 2007 EDT @I_suck: Obviously, Ryan banning him would not be applicable under freedom of speech, since he wouldn't be speaking, lol. I only said that he has the freedom to do it, not the "freedom of speech" to do it, which would be nonsensical.

And my argument still holds true. There are certainly wrong ways to translate, prounounce, and spell translated words, whether you are going between the same alphabet or not. My example was in French to keep it simple, but I can create more to your liking if that is required. Now perhaps my argument is idiotic. Please feel free to show me how. Then again, I could just be unorthodox. ;) |

at 8:50 AM, Thursday April 19, 2007 EDT I deleted his posts too so this thread may look a little strange.
And whats with the freedom of speech bit? This site is not a country governing its people... there are more than just US citizens here too... and I've been known to delete accounts without a fair trial. |

at 3:40 PM, Thursday April 19, 2007 EDT Clearly everyone here needs a little crash course on the 1st Amendment. The 1st Amendment does not say you can say whatever you want. All it says is that the government can't pass laws to shut you up. I don't see any "kdice clause" that says that Ryan counts as the government.
