@ubersmuch: Freedom of speech? Yes, he has that freedom. We have the freedom to request he be banned. Ryan has the freedom to ban him. Please understand the concept before you try to make an argument using it.

@dvdCase: If it were months or even a week after, perhaps "too sensitive" would apply. But less that 48 hours after 33 people were slaughtered and you think this is ok? That we should be to the point were this sort of atrocity shouldn't bother us? Do you have any idea how many people's lives have been absolutely devastated, let alone the people that were killed? Perhaps you should be just a little more sensitive.

I am normally not an advocate of banning. However, in this situation, I do have to agree that he should be removed from the game.

He claims that this is his real name, yet uses the mugshot of the Virginia Tech killer. While accusing all of us in a game of being racist, he slipped up and told us he was chinese. Well, Hui is a Korean last name. If he was chinese, it would be spelled differently, as the translation would have been different. I confirmed this with a Chinese citizen who is a friend of mine.

When translating words between different languages/alphabets, there is no such thing as 'wrong', there are only unorthodox translations.

He could spell his name "kentucky friend chicken" and insist it be pronounced however "Cho Seung Hui" is supposed to be pronounced in the native Korean tongue.

Granted, there may be more than translation you could argue as being the best for a given word or phrase, but clearly there are lots of translations that would be just plain wrong.

For example, if I tell you that Bonjour meant "go screw your finger into a light socket" in English, that would be WRONG, not unorthdox.

I agree that his name is rude, to put it lightly, however, I'm also a big fan of free speech. Sure, this guy is an annoying asshole, and his account should probably be removed because he clearly abuses the chat function in games and makes them less enjoyable. But not simply due to his unfortunate moniker. As a student of debate, I feel the need to point out to you that although Ryan has a right to ban him, that's due to a property issue rather than Ryan's explict right to express himself. Ofcourse, choosing who to ban is an expression of Ryan's prefrences. His ability to do so is not a result of free speech laws, but a result of ownership. Free speech doesn't cover removing things that offend your (and my own) sensibilities. So, I have to say to you, know your argument before you debate and belittle other users.

I just say that we just agree to make him a permanent PGE for all players. Make playing so miserable for him that he'll get tired of nothing but 7th place all the time, and he'll quit.
