The forum is very depressing lately and i thought about shutting it down until all the complainers leave the site.
Instead, I'm just going to request that if you feel the need to complain here just go. This is a free site and i work hard to make it as good as possible. However it can't please everyone and if this is you then do everyone a favor and leave. Its the same few people posting over and over and bring this forum down to petty name calling. Please go. I've already banned one person. |

at 6:22 AM, Monday February 19, 2007 EST This is the complaint-section: I think creating this was a very good idea, because it will always be on top AND there will always be only one "complaint topic". So if everyone puts complaints here, the Forum will be fine again. And those complaints can be answered easier. (Maybe someone can erase new Complaint-threads?)

at 7:42 PM, Monday February 19, 2007 EST Wait, we were -supposed- to complain in this thread? Excuse me while I compile a list. :P
1) NO post counts. They're fun. Howe else will one have a 666th post, or 1000th post? |

at 7:19 AM, Tuesday February 20, 2007 EST Ryan, if it makes you feel any better. I visit quite some fora and there alwyas is a small group of people that cant don anything elsebut complain. Look at the populartity of Kdice, people love this game. Dont let the few complainers let you think otherwise.

at 9:53 AM, Tuesday February 20, 2007 EST I'll post more completely on this later, but since ryan is asking for some bad vibes here - I decided to go phoenix and sat 18 unlimited tables in a row without attacking - now I remember pre reset how hard it got to lose points, but in this case - 18 rounds, I actually gained 70 points over the course of them - There is no reasonable arguement that this new system rewards luck over skill to an unreasonable extent - my stacks don't even need a brain behind them, they just survive a few lucky rolls and they're home free. It's unfortunate, from someone who has played near 500 rounds, that the game had to degenerate this way, but as Ryan says, it's his party.

First, Ryan wasn't "asking for some bad vibes". He just wanted to stop the whole forum from being a place where people whined and complained all the time. Second, of course at the unlimited tables, sitting and doing nothing will increase your score for a while. Newbies and bad players play there and don't have a clue. They regularly overextend themselves and get chewed up fast. Those who sit and do nothing build slowly and never present a threat, so nobody is quick to attack them if they only have a couple territories. That is logical. I bet that if you do the same at a 1600 table you won't have the same results. |

at 10:48 AM, Tuesday February 20, 2007 EST scaldis - interesting premise - too bad the facts don't bear it out. Under the old system sitting down at the unlimited tables and doing nothing would slowly erode your points, on this system, the new "smart dice" are clearly able to play on their own, as they build points - the new system rewards no play at all over active play - it is a factor of the predominence of early roll luck (and the benefit of having no early rolls). Now if you would like to go collect evidence and refute this I'd be happy to see what you come up with.

at 10:54 AM, Tuesday February 20, 2007 EST Just fyi - it appears that we have 6,332 active players these days - I've (actively) dropped another 100 points and haven't changed that ranking. It used to be easy to know when you were last because we could use the active player count on the news page, but I'm guessing ryan hasn't assigned the 1500 score to all those existing accounts until they log in.
