Bad form, flex&bri. You lack honor. flex&bri flagged to me fairly early so I left him alone completely--that gave him the opportunity to take 2nd easily (he made sure to verbal flag and then grab as many territories as he could that I otherwise might have taken as we were side-by-side and that is why he flagged). All fine so far. The two tied for 3rd went out when one of them sat out; that left just flex&bri and me. He "Sat Out," but as I was typing a message in chat, I missed my turn (thinking the game was over) and was "Away." flex&bri immediately clicked "Sit In" and clicked "End Turn" as quickly as possible, multiple times, to end the game with me in 2nd. That trick is a great one IF you haven't flagged to the other guy. That trick is dishonorable in this case. As I always say, about 1 in 20 won't honor their verbal flags. That is why I don't insist that verbal flags become "real" flags--I want to see what the other guy is made of. flex&bri failed my simple test. My guess: flex&bri will be honest and upright until you give him a chance to take advantage of your trust in him. If you watch him carefully, he is honest as the day is long; otherwise, don't bet on it.

Totally honorable player. Had every opportunity to go back on his flag, but sat out instead.
