Just a hint that its better for your rating to play at 200+ tables, if you have a rating over 200.

I don't think I played much before points were introduced. At least I am certain I did get a lot less than these days (yeah, go ahead make some funny comments here).

However, +2k was a more or less closed group before resets were introduced. It was hard to get in there, even harder to stay - pretty much the same as 2k and 5k table these days... Once you were in you were quite save. It was hard to drop out after some socialising.

The changes haven't changed much, have they?

I think Ryan always had the idea that point changes would bring about culture change, but that never happened in any of the point changes over the years.

oh well... congrats on 10 years Ryan!

Congrats indeed - I think few would have given this 10 years back then!

Regarding changes and changing the character of the game. The changes we've had are only half-hearted.

By now the place is flooded with points. You can make more points a month than you did the first 2 or 3 years. Nothing wrong with that. Having unlimited points should fill the higher tables and through this end otf and teamplaying there. The idea is good, countless players pretty much works vs. teamplaying on low tables. But then there is no table limits (discussed in variants many times) so now people play 0 tables with 8k... That's a change that did stop too early.

I need to think of a way to make this dynamic.

I remember being the first to 2k after the Elo reset. I didn't actively PGA, but I'm sure people were nicer to me than they should have been. Eventually, I couldn't keep up with rnd and took losses way too hard, so I just quit.

In hindsight, probably the best decision I could have made.

not a bad decision as long as you keep checking the forums :)

I wonder how many players from long ago occasionally drop into the forums but don't post.
