OK, many players may not believe that I have any clue or knowledge of strategy. For the most part, that is true. How ever, I have stumbled upon a few hints that few or no other strategy guru's tell you. these can be applied in both beginner and more complicated situations. Since my aim is to try to find the "not-so-obvious" stuff, it may be a little skimpy at first, but I will try my best to keep it full of new info. (of course, I could just have ended up wasting my time while looking like a fool at the same time)
Hint #1(Intermediate): There are a few maps on KDice that are more difficult than others. Their territories are usually loosely connected, with only a few spots connecting one larger mainland to another. This can make an end game at all 8 stacks tedious and boring, with many choke points where one territory separates you and your opponent's lands. A good way to ensure a victory or solid finish, is to try your best to keep your opponent with one territory to attack you with. He/She then only has one opportunity to attack you each turn, and even if they succeed, it exposes an opportunity for you to cut them at the choke point. That's the tip of the week, hope you use it well! |

Well, here's the next tip of the week: (Beginner) Aight, well this one may be more obvious and already practices, but that's why I tagged it as "Beginner". I frequently tell new player to always look where other player may want to connect or take land over the next turns, so they know where to go and not to go. Sometimes it's obvious, sometimes less so. This is a good defensive strategy, if you will, to watch out for your own behind. But you can make an extremely good use of that tactic to even further protect yourself against further damage! Think about this regarding when you connect: usually, you don't want to drag your dice all around the map trying to connect, only to come one territory away from connecting, or to find out that the only link to connect your lands is occupied by a 6 or 7 stack (if you don't have a superior or equal stack yourself) Considering that you will stave off attacking foes with your largest stacks getting int heir way, it is best advisable to, when possible, to move your bigger stacks in the way of a possible connect or interference with an opponent. Sounds simple right? Just keep a road block between them and their opportunity to destroy you. However, exercise this with caution; your opponents may be more aggressive than some, and willing to take risks, and while I always advise people to TRUST THEIR DICE, restacks may not always be generous, leaving an opponent with a clear path to victory over you. But, if successful, applying such a move will most likely leave you with one less player to worry about. Now get off my lawn! |
