No, part of the skill of the game is dealing with the 1 dice towers and the random placement of the dice, the changes the game considerably.

no - it slows the game down, which is already huge.. but also it would alter the early game considerably. people who play last would be toast if there were no 1 dice lands

How about something like Risk, where you can make one territory-to-adjacent-territory transfer at the end of your turn?
