Secondly, I'd like to be able to mute individual players or have a chat filter for cuss words.

Muting individual players is a good idea.
Chat filter is not: Alot of words in other languages are very similar to English cuss words.
For example, the Belgian sentence for "you can" is " ge kunt" ("je kan/kunt" in the Dutch Standard Language). Now you can see the similarities with the English word "cunt", so that word would be blocked. This would seriously mess the chat up, people'd have a hard time communicating and the chat would be full of ******* ********* *****...

not to mention of pass, class, mass. All ass'es would be blocked.

the other way, as a similar idea has been entered a few days before. People can easiliy circumvent such filters. |=uck. sh1t, shi1, pr0n, b1tch

I would prefer being able to mute individuals as well. It's usually just one person being an ass or making the chat scroll or just being annoying that bugs me, I don't really mind cuss words when used in normal conversation.

I agree Lindsay. Swearing I don't care about, but when the chat window's scrolling out of control you could miss an important message.

I agree with muting, but a chat filter would be mostly ineffective. I ran into a guy recently who filled the chat (after he had been eliminated) with amazingly long, vulgar insults.

Muting individuals who ruin the experience would be a wonderful addition to KDice.

I would vote for an optional chat filter, silencing players with an "ignore list", and I'd add another idea to let you automatically turn off all icons.

I have a young son who asks me if he can play, and I don't let him, mainly because of the explicit icons and language he'd be exposed to. I think more kids might play kdice if parents could reduce the amount of adult "content" they would be exposed to.

I don't think it's censorship if you're choosing to turn these filters on.

No chat filters, they're for pussys. It ruins normal conversations if words like "ass" or "dick" are censored. Thats just plain stupid. "Dick" is a German word for "fat", for example. Things like that.

But a lot of people here dont seem to understand, that the muting option would already work fine for them. No need to censor swearing and such.
