In fact I think the current German state is much younger than the USA. There was a state that can be seen as predecessor to the current Germany before the USA - that state or those states have fallen. It is the usual story of all states. They rise, they reach some maximum, which of course varies due to circumstances, they fall. Babylon, Greece, Rome, several Chinese dynasties, the Maya... the list is long. The further you go back in history, the more local the fall was. Approaching recent times, falls often effected others. Very often you see dictatorship before the fall.
