Nice to have a mod officially dropping by. I have the feeling that for the time being the game is doing quite fine. There are the usual number of issues between certain accounts. Some last longer than reasonable from my point of view. But nothing seems toxic enough to me to be a big danger for the game requiring massive action by mods. Nevertheless, currently there are 2 things that I think you or Ryan might be able to act upon:

1) Lag is a problem occasionally. Some suffer more, some suffer less. The reason is not clear to me.

2) More mods would be nice. Though there is no hard current issue imho, the pure presence or possible presence of mods does increase the sticking to some minimum rules and ethics. I would expect certain outbursts of hate-language, trolling and ganging up would be reduced. I repeat that I don't consider these aspects a major problem for the time being, but ofc, it is not completely gone.

Other than that, there are the usual things that cannot be fixed that easily:

a) Lag of players most of the time. I wouldn't know what you could do about that.

b) Arbitrary number of spectators listed at the tables. This occurs now and then. It is not really a big problem but somehow irritating to see like 50 people online (6 each table) and nobody sitting.

General ideas:

I) I still like the idea of people that are online and not active are seated the highest possible table automatically every 20 minutes.

II) Dynamic table limits would still be great imho. This means that, if there are like 9 people online that have more than 5k, these players cannot sit at tables below 500. The benefit would be that higher games would get going. More players at higher tables would hopefully reduce the inevitable old trusted friend scenario there (you just know each other and there are some longterm relationships). In combination with the automated seating that could get games going.

There is an issue that with the current point structure and with all the bonus points from tourneys and kills, most tourneys start becoming inaccessible (and not worth much anyway) once you reached 50k. It's not easy staying motivated beyond that because there is not much going on.

A fix would be adding something like 1k, 2k, 3k tourneys to the schedule.

Active KDice mods would be nice. But not anyone. They have to be fair and respectful and need to have a clue.

New players weren't able to verify e-mail and thus weren't able to chat. If that is still the case it needs fixing.

For the hate language, can you ban or minus chat for avigdor? He uses homophobic slurs/hate language almost every time I play with him.

I forgot about the chat-issue Slinus mentioned. That would be a most important part. Because if there was a new player he or she would be gone again quite fast as chat is not available. That topic should be number one on the list.

Regarding the tourneys, it is not that easy to solve. It is just too easy to score these days. You don't need too much skill to get to 50k in a few days. So I see four alternatives:

1) Getting points gets harder again by reducing tourneys or setting limits different. I am not sure that that will be good for the player base.

2) Further tournaments are introduced with different limits and pay ins which will further increase the point flooding. I am not sure I like this.

3) Weekly deposits.
Every week you get 10% of your current score withdrawn. Every game you play at the 3rd highest level you can possibly do you get 1% refunded. That way everybody has to play 10 regular games at some level a week or lose points... The numbers can be modified, I just made them up without much math behind it.

4) Minimum games before next
You have to play a certain number of games before you can join the next tourney.

Just a few thoughts.

While you are desbribing interesting ideas, Louis, it's a lot to implement.

Changing the tourney schedule a bit to make the point progression more interesting would just involve changing some values.

We have 4 100-tourneys and 3 250-tourneys a day. Change a 100 to a 1k-tourney, change a 100 to a 2k-tourney and change a 250 to 3k-tourney.

That way you don't add more bonus points and you don't even have to touch the Freerolls for potential new players.

Hi,

Posting one example of hate language. Please minus chat avigdor or ban him?

thx for posting everyone. Lot of good ideas here. I started with asking Ryan to clear the sites caches and look into the gateway 504 error that some have been getting recently. th
