This is why we need table limits reinstated

When you have guys with 28,000 pts contaminating, what traditionally are new players, you get this.

I know there was a concern of lack of play at odd hours. But seriously, how does this help.

BTW, while this game was going there was 1- 2k, 2- 500s. Just put the table limits back in. If its an issue, so be it.

Wow! TrueBlueballs really weaseled that one! hahahaha! Keepin the game interesting at least haha

But seriously, table limits don't make sense because there are not enough players anymore to keep games going consistently. Sometimes you just want to play a quick game asap and not have to wait 20+ mins for a 500 to start. If someone with 10k+ pts is willing to play a 0 table I think it's a bit generous of them in a way. I also prefer playing a table that is fully seated with 7 players rather than 5 0r 6. Reinstating table limits would not be a good move right now in my opinion. Oh almost forgot, I'm Donald Krunk and I'm always right!

OK, table limits are back on the agenda. Here's my idea to and view of it for another time.

I am absolutely in favor of table limits. Having more players and different players playing higher tables makes the often observed and criticised OTF there harder.

Of course you can argue where the limits are. Something like 500 for 0 tables, 1k for 100 tables, 3k for 500, 15k for 2k might be reasonable. In all cases you stay above the "threshold" even if you lose a game or 2.

I agree that they ruin the fun if you are the only player online above a limit. This can be solved by only enforcing limits if sufficient players are online. Example (using my invented limits from above):

I got 20k (YES!) and log in. There are 8 other players online that are above 15k. All of us have to play 5k. If there are less than 8 players the "big guys" might play 2k as well (if there are more than 8 player satisfying the 3k limit to not be allowed to do 500 any more).

Table limits are only active if there is a sufficient number (8 is an arbitrary example) of players online that exceed the limit. Games would still start and high tables would be used.

You might argue that somebody not logging off but never sitting ruins the scheme. That is true. Automatically seat online players every 5 minutes (arbitrary example). Not logging off will get games going, make winning easier and re-adjust their score...

Just some ideas I have written before I know it makes some work in the coding and I have to confess that I couldn't do it as I am not familiar with php. However, I don't think it is impossible to be done.

Happy ROlling ;-)

+1 LC. Also, Donald, if limits were implemented, you wouldnt have to wait that long for a table, in theory everyone would have to play the 500s or so.

I mean afterall, it is a monthly COMPETITION. LETS COMPETE!

Happy ROlling.

Table limits suck. You only need people to take their points. People should have an option - like they can play whatever table they want. Ryan shouldn't limit us, especially if I pay him 38 australian dollars per year, so no thanks. kiss my ass.

I have no idea why hcdug is so jealous of me. It is true I have been lucky in life and I have a good family, great job, and live in one of the best places in the world. But trolling every single game of mine is just too much. Bullying like his should be addressed. If you look at my last 100 games, he is there in at least 50 games trying to persuade other players to ruin my game. I believe we all agree that this is just too much!
