How to improve kdice

1. Make PGA legal, people do it all the time any ways and it can't be enforced because most of the time it's in the gray zone.
2. Change the software to enforce flags after round 9. If you flag someone, then cannot attack you and you cannot attack them unless you both confirm it is ok. This will eliminate backstabbing and attacking after accepting flag, which are much bigger problems than PGA. Of course, circular flags should be disallowed (i.g., A flags B, B flags C, C flags A).

Why the change? All rules should be software enforced. This removes all the drama. If a rule can't be software enforced, then it is not very clear and it should be removed.

"Make PGA legal, people do it all the time any ways and it can't be enforced because most of the time it's in the gray zone."

A 'team game' mod would be a good addition, but it'd require some more dev time from Ryan, and frankly, I'm not sure that it'd be worth it. Maybe if it's implemented as a member-only mod?

"If a rule can't be software enforced, then it is not very clear and it should be removed."

Nah, that's bullshit. Some rules are not software-enforcable, cause currently no software is smart enough to meaningfully interpret vastly complex human processes like languages or behaviour. On the other hand, toxic language and cheats (PGA) might make the game a worse experience for everyone else.

Humans (even 8 yo kids) can always evade a swear filter by employing clever tweaks and substitutions (like cun7 for cunt), and if you make it stricter to catch even those, you'll end up with too many false positives ("innocent" sentences and people being flagged, like that poor guy from sCUNThorpe).

There was also a software-enforced "statistics based" filter against PGAers called RCs (stands for ridiculous correlation), but it didn't really work well. It failed to catch PGA, but so sometimes caught genuine rivals (both going for 1st place and therefore often playing+winning at the same 5k tables).

One day, AI will be clever enough to deal with these problems, but till then, you'll need human mods. And everyone else can help them by reporting wrongdoers, fair enough, isn't it?

I agree with most of what getting_revolt wrote. Bottom line is that we should strive to make kdice less toxic place. I understand why players that have certain expectations get upset. I was just thinking that if the rules are computer enforced and everyone understands them, there will be less false expectations.

Stabbing is not against the rules.
Flagging players and not for position is not really adressed anyway.

Are you asking for more regulation? It is the society that needs to react if it gets abused frequently (e.g. perma-stabb). And from my observation this worked quite fine so far for stabbers.

I do not like these suggestions, but I will assert that TB is correct in one thing:

Only society can be racist, because racism is a systemic imbalance. This racism can be expressed in nuanced ways, including by people of the very minority population that is being oppressed. For example, black cops participating in the overpolicing of black communities and the "criminalization" of black youth... are not personally prejudiced against blacks, but are participating in expressing systemic racism.

What you are conflating it with is Prejudice. Anyone can be Prejudiced against anyone else for any reason including racial bias.

I've asked for some software enforced rules like autobans for chat spam, filter offensive words etc ages ago but other than that: pretty bad ideas
