I lost the roll with higher count than my oponent? 35 to 8

This actually happened today.. I rolled 35 with an 8 stack and he rolled a 3 stack for eight points. I clearly should've won the roll... but it said he defended and his stack stayed. I've never seen this before.. Anyone know what's up with this bug?
