Recognize accounts that have been played for 10 years?

I believe kdice is approaching its 10th anniversary - I'm not sure though. I don't recall the exact date. And I am certain I wasn't there on day 1. Maybe the anniversary has passed already.
However, there are a few accounts that have a mostly uninterrupted record of being actively played for more than 10 years. What do you think of the idea of somehow recognizing these accounts? IMHO you should recognize them even more if they went through that time of active playing without bans. You can discuss how you can define "mostly active". That's details. And no, although the LC-account might qualify sooner or later, that's not the point. It would do the site good to somehow distinguish the veterans. Your thoughts? |

@Verm: Only if you started very young or this site lives longer than I would expect it to. Well - it already does that, still there is plenty of room until reaching 50%. Aside from that I am not sure the "contributor" is the right batch there. Taking me as an example (because that's the one I know best), I have been "investing" time but mostly to have fun. So, trying to have fun for 10 years doesn't make me a contributor imho. If you had offered that batch for my outstanding contributions in numerous discussions in the forum (joking) or my remarkable ranting, cursing and whining (yeah, I am good at that), I'd agree. The grey beards are a nice direction. How much is the effort to create a batch for "old farts" (yeah, I know there is other sides using that expression so it probably isn't the best name) or "addicts" or "learning-disabled" ;-) 2 further ideas: Would it be possible to have the creation date of your account visible? Should there be some sort of celebration every year the day kdice went online? Something like any account loging and playing 5 games that day gets 10.000 points? It might populate higher tables, wouldn't really effect the leaderboard as those in the lead get the points anyways and have the day in the addicts mind. Plus 10 years in it is about time to create some memory. |
