Begging for free kill

I've noticed this tactic has become common, now that you get points for kills. I've even had players become annoyed that I flagged out instead of gift them a kill.

Let's all collectively grow a pair and stop accepting this practice as normal behavior...

Also please stop offering me kills. I don't want them for free; it's embarrassing.

of course it is just another adaptive strategy to make points according to changed rules..
(unless it would constitute a method of more or less obvious point funneling)
and as such it appears comforme with the rules yet possibly not legitimate in a sense of game logic and the intentions behind...

as far as I remember the purpose of rewarding kills with points was supposed to be

* to encourage more agressive and consequentual play

* not letting players with small amount of and / or low stacked territory waiting for a cheap exit at little loss, thus enhancing competition within the game

* stop strong players from accepting those flags

< > giving a kill can also be seen as reward after a good fight, but should rather be the exception if those points are not earned

Yes I understand the reasoning behind it and the benefit of giving / receiving free kills. I also do not believe it should be 'against the rules' of kdice to do so.

But; I do believe it is an embarrassing tactic. Chat pwn, farming, backstabbing, and silent truces all help maximize EV; thus separating good players from excellent players. These tactics are manipulative and when done correctly amount to a pretty deadly competitor to deal with. This gains respect (at least from me).

Begging for free kills perhaps gains you more points in the long run; but for f*ck sake, have some dignity people.

Begging for points is an embarrassing tactic and deserves to be ridiculed as such within this community.

Just my 2 cents :)

More rant:

This is a social game where sociology determines the winner of gold every bit as much as math skills; probably even more. Everyone of us can influence this sociology by deciding what we will and wont accept as normal behavior. Begging for free points should be punished collectively or else get ready for gold winners to be a who's who of whiners and beggers; instead of the Machiavellian winners of the past that make this game so fun to play (once again personal opinion).

Btw; Overall I think that giving points for kills has been a great improvement to the game. Kudos Ryan.

I have noticed that risky play is now rewarded with increased EV. Even rolls are now much more rewarding then before. I've also noticed that game play has not fully adapted to this new paradigm just yet. This leads to an exciting shift in tactics that for me has changed the game dramatically.

asking for kills, or using them as bargain material has become part of the game

there are no real rules but of course there is a point where it becomes lame or even a point funnel mechanism

Like it was mentioned already, the kill bonus was mainly installed to promote quicker and more fun games. We also wanted to decrease the accepting of weak flags.

I don't think people have the right to complain when someone flags out without giving a kill. However, it is considered rude to ruin someone and then flag out. Or letting someone fight and then flagging out instead of staying in one turn where you won't lose dom. I think it's kinda obvious when it's good sportsmanship to stay in and let yourself get killed.
